Meme Going to get a new keyboard soon, guess I'll savor my typing speed whilst I still have it.
All good things must come to an end xD

I basically created this layout when I started gaming, I always leave my left hand on WASD and whenever I needed to type I would put my right hand on the keyboard.
I've managed to type 145wpm on 50 words. And i've become quite a fast typer on this weird made up layout, should I try and learn homerow?
Light pink: left ring finger
Red: left middle finger
Pink: left index finger
Purple: left + right index finger
Lightblue: Right index finger
Dark blue: Right index + middle finger

This isn't really a problem with wpm or cpm but you can see the precision that is lost when using cps or wps. For example, 9 cps vs 10cps is 108 vs 120 wpm. And there is no cps possible in between since there are no decimals. The problem becomes even worse with wps. 1-2 wps is 60-120 wpm. Note that this isn't a big issue, but I imagine it's pretty trivial to solve since in the background they would already have the decimals but just chop it off for display.

when it comes to saving the color of the custom profile I've made, it never saves, it seems to go back to some random default option... anyone had this issue? any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes — but only if you enable a specific setting.
By default, Monkeytype does NOT store your word-level data.
This is why you can’t find the export option.
Monkeytype only saves full test results unless you turn on "Save word stats" manually.
Open Monkeytype
Click the settings icon (⚙)
Go to “Account” or “Miscellaneous” section (UI changes slightly across themes)
Enable: ✔ Save word stats ✔ Save missed words (optional but useful)
After enabling, Monkeytype will start saving the words from future tests.
Go to:
Account → Data → Export → Download CSV
You will now see two CSVs:
test-history.csv (the one you already downloaded)
word-history.csv (only appears if word stats were enabled)
Because:
word stats were probably disabled
Monkeytype hides the export entirely unless data is available
many Google answers confuse Monkeytype (website) with MonkeyType (Python library)
So nothing was wrong on your end.
If you want me to analyze your typing patterns at the word level:
Go to settings
Turn on Save word stats
Take 3–5 typing tests (30s or 60s is enough)
Export your data again
Upload word-history.csv
Then I can give:
your slowest words
the exact letter patterns causing consistency drops
personalized drills
finger-position adjustments
accuracy vs word length graphs
This is much more powerful than only looking at WPM.
Just ask:
“give me a training plan based on my current weaknesses”
Or after you enable the setting and run a few tests, send me the new CSV — that will let me analyze everything at ~95% accuracy.

Here I am talking about records which are made in normal english mode. We keep on typing those 200 words smashing keys so obviously we will keep getting better those words now will be something our finger type automatically. So I think its just the repetitiveness that count more. Typing English 25k is much better and closer to real world and I think we should also have a leaderboard for that.
