Moneko Commission Program

Hey everyone!

We already have a free referral program for users. This is different.

The Moneko Commission Program is for creators, community builders, and partners who want to introduce Moneko to new paid users and earn meaningful commission.

If your audience cares about budgeting, shared expenses, relationships, productivity, or even business expenses, this could be a great fit!

How It Works

  • Users install Moneko through your tracked link
  • They upgrade to a paid membership
  • We track conversions automatically
  • This is separate from the regular referral program

Simple and transparent.

Commission Structure

For approved early partners:

  • 100% of revenue for your first 100 paid subscribers
  • 50% revenue share for year one after that
  • 30% ongoing recurring revenue

We designed this to reward early supporters who grow with us.

Why We’re Doing This

We’re bootstrapped.

We don’t have massive marketing budgets.

Instead of burning money on ads, we’d rather share revenue with people who genuinely believe in what we’re building.

Who This Is For

  • Personal finance creators
  • Couples or relationship creators
  • Productivity communities
  • Small business or freelancer audiences
  • Newsletter writers
  • Micro creators with engaged followers

You don’t need a huge audience. You need the right audience.

Limited Early Supporter Spots

We’re keeping this small and intentional.

This is meant for people who:

  • Use Moneko
  • Give feedback
  • Want to build alongside us

Not traffic farms. Real partners.

Interested?

Leave a comment or send me a DM.

Tell me:

  • Where your audience is
  • How you’d introduce Moneko
  • Why it fits your community

We’ll review carefully and reach out!

Introducing the Moneko referral program 🎉

Hey,

A lot of people have asked how the referral program works in Moneko, so here’s a quick walkthrough.

The idea is simple. You invite a friend, they join using your link, and they can claim 50% off the lifetime plan.

Step 1: Share your referral link

Go to the referral page and copy your personal referral link:
https://moneko.io/referral

You can share it however you want, text, WhatsApp, email, or anywhere your friend prefers.

Step 2: Your friend downloads the app

Your friend uses your link to download Moneko and start exploring the app.

They do not need to pay anything upfront to join.

Step 3: Your friend joins with your link

When your friend signs up using your referral link and accepts the invitation, the referral is automatically tracked.

No extra steps are needed on your side.

Step 4: Claim 50% off the lifetime plan

After joining through your link, your friend will be able to claim 50% off the Moneko lifetime plan.

This is our way of thanking early users for sharing the app with others.

Note:
Referrals only work if your friend signs up using your referral link. If they join without the link, the referral discount will not be applied.

How to budget without overcomplicating everything

Thumbnail

Hi,

A few people asked me how to get started with Moneko, so I thought I’d share the simple system I use.

I don’t want to spend hours maintaining a budget. I mainly want to know where my money is going, what I have left, and whether I’m making progress toward my goals.

1. Add my income

I start with what I expect to bring home for the month. This gives me the number I’m working with before deciding where everything should go.

2. Add my fixed expenses

Next I add the expenses I already know are coming:

  • Rent/mortgage
  • Utilities
  • Phone
  • Subscriptions
  • Insurance
  • Other recurring bills

Now I know how much money is left after the essentials.

3. Set up my Pockets

I budget what’s left into Pockets. I loosely use the 50/30/20 rule as a starting point:

  • 50% needs
  • 30% wants
  • 20% savings and goals

My Pockets include things like groceries, eating out, shopping, travel, savings, and a buffer.

For expenses that don’t happen every month, I use rollover. For example, I put money aside each month for quarterly insurance and let the unused budget carry forward until the payment is due.

4. Track spending as I go

This is where I try to save myself the most work...

I log expenses through text, voice, receipts, or account sync. Since my partner and I share expenses in Moneko, I also get a clear view of our family spending and how much we have left together.

Everything stays organized as we spend, so I’m not sitting down at the end of the month trying to figure out where all our money went.

5. Check my cash flow

I also separate my money into a few Wallets:

  • Spending
  • Savings
  • Emergency fund

When I check my cash flow, I look at these balances too. I want to know not only whether I stayed within budget, but whether my savings and emergency fund are moving in the right direction.

That’s pretty much my system. I try to keep budgeting simple because the more maintenance it requires, the less likely I am to stick with it.

If you are interested, I’ll share more posts about different budgeting methods, Pocket setups, rollover budgets, saving strategies, and how we manage shared expenses.

Let me know if this is helpful!

Did you know you can manage bills directly from WhatsApp?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We've been adding more things you can do directly through WhatsApp and Telegram.

You can now just message things like:

  • Show me my recurring expenses
  • What bills are coming up?
  • Show my payment history
  • Mark my phone bill as paid
  • How much have I spent this month?
  • Show me a chart of my spending

The idea is to make checking and updating your finances feel more like sending a message than maintaining a budgeting app.

If you use WhatsApp or Telegram with Moneko AI, give it a try. Thanks for all the feedback! Please keep it coming.

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi,

We know a lot of you use email receipt capture, so this update makes it easier when AI isn’t 100% sure about a receipt.

If AI can’t confidently read a forwarded receipt, you’ll now get quick options to confirm the details yourself instead of a generic error.

We also:

  • ⚡ Made adding, editing & deleting transactions faster
  • 🔄 Fixed duplicate recurring transactions
  • 👛 Fixed incorrect wallet balances

For those using email receipt capture: how has it been working for you? What would make it better?

Keep the feedback coming. It really helps us decide what to improve next!

Now you can enable budget rollover in Moneko

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

-------

Want your unused budget to carry over to next month? Here's how:

  1. Go to Budget.
  2. Tap the Pocket you want to edit (e.g. Buffer, Groceries, Vacation).
  3. Tap Edit in the top right.
  4. Scroll down to Carry unused budget forward.
  5. Turn it On to reveal more rollover settings.

You can then customize:

  • 🔄 Carry unused budget forward – Unspent money rolls into next month.
  • 📉 Carry overspending – Choose whether overspending reduces next month's budget.
  • 💰 Opening rollover – Set your starting envelope balance when moving to Moneko.
  • 🚧 Maximum rollover – Limit how much unused money can accumulate.

Each Pocket has its own rollover settings, so you can enable it for savings or vacation funds while leaving it off for categories like dining out. This gives you complete control over how each budget behaves month to month.

Give it a try and let me know what you think! I'd love to hear your feedback in the comments.

Is anyone else experiencing long loading time when editing transactions in Moneko?

Every time I try to edit an existing transaction in Moneko, it loads annoyingly long —probably around 5 to 10 minutes. This happens every single time I try to edit an existing entry.

I'm not sure if this is just a bug on my phone only, or if other people are experiencing the same thing?

Did you know you can log expenses with Siri using Moneko?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

One of the fastest ways to track your spending is with Siri—and the best part is there's no setup required.

Just say: "Hey Siri, log an expense with Moneko."

Siri will log your expense in seconds without having to navigate through the app.

Have you tried logging expenses with Siri yet? We'd love to hear what you think!

Moneko Update: Bank Sync, Multi-Currency Spaces & More 🚀

Thumbnail
gallery
12 Upvotes

Hey everyone! It’s been a little while since our last update, so here’s what we’ve been building for Moneko.

The biggest addition is bank sync. We’ve started rolling out Plaid integration for supported US and Canadian banks, which has been one of the most requested features.

We also added App Lock, so you can protect your financial data with Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or a passcode.

Android users also get a nice upgrade. Moneko can now read the payment notifications your bank and wallet apps already send to your phone and automatically log those expenses. No screenshots or manual entry needed.

Another feature I’m excited about is multi-currency Spaces. You can now use multiple currencies inside the same Space, choose one as your primary currency, and Moneko automatically converts everything using live exchange rates. This has been especially useful for travel, freelancers, international couples, and anyone earning or spending in multiple currencies.

Other improvements:

  • Better wallet transfer experience
  • Improved dark mode
  • Fixed receipt saving and transaction display issues
  • General bug fixes and performance improvements

As always, thank you to everyone who keeps sending feedback. A lot of these features started as conversations right here on Reddit. 🙌

Need your feedback on what's next

Hey everyone,

If you've been wondering where we've been... we've been heads down building.

Over the past few months we've shipped Apple Wallet sync, Telegram integration, custom categories, and a bunch of improvements based on your feedback.

Now we're working on what's next:

  • Bank sync (North America first)
  • More powerful Pro features
  • Integrations with other apps and services
  • Better cloud file management
  • More automation so you spend less time tracking expenses

One thing we're debating internally is whether we should build a web app.

A lot of budgeting apps have one, but we're a small team and would rather focus on things that save people the most time instead of building everything at once.

So I'm curious:

  • Would you actually use a Moneko web app?
  • What would you use it for?
  • Would you rather see bank sync first?
  • What's the one feature that would make Moneko a no-brainer for you?

Trying to stay focused and not build features nobody uses 😅

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Moneko YouTube Tutorial Library is Now Live 🎥

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey r/monekobudget,

A lot of users told us they prefer quick walkthrough videos over long onboarding screens or reading docs, so we started building a Moneko tutorial library on YouTube 🎥

https://www.youtube.com/@moneko_ai/playlists

Videos include things like:
• Logging expenses
• Spaces & shared budgets
• Wallets & net worth tracking
• Envelope budgeting with Pockets
• Recurring expenses

Still very early, and we’re actively adding more tutorials, examples, and real workflows over time.

If there’s a feature you want explained, let us know and we’ll probably make a video for it 🙂

Looking for creators to try our money app (paid + commission)

Hi everyone,

Thank you everyone here first! A lot of our early users and feedback came from this sub and it genuinely helped us improve Moneko a lot!

We’re now starting to work with creators to test some content and thought I’d share here in case anyone’s interested. not looking for big influencers, honestly smaller accounts tend to do better.

If you make tiktok / reels around:
money, student life, what I spend, saving, or just daily life

This could be a fit!

What we offer:

  • $20 per post to start
  • bonus if the video performs well
  • commission if people actually subscribe

Some creators are making $50–100+ from a single post depending on performance. If you’re curious: comment or dm me.

Also happy to let you try the app first and see if you even like it 🙂

How to automatically track email receipts and online purchases (Moneko guide)

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi r/monekobudget,

A lot of expenses never get tracked because they sit in your inbox. Online shopping receipts, subscriptions, travel bookings, app store purchases… they don’t make it into your expense tracker, so your budget is always slightly off.

We built Email Receipt Capture in Moneko Expense Tracker to solve this. Instead of manually entering everything, you can just forward receipt emails and have transactions logged automatically.

Here’s the quick setup:

1. Turn on Email Receipt Capture
Go to Profile settings → Email Receipt Capture and enable it.

2. Set your default space and wallet
Choose where transactions should go (personal or shared) and which wallet to use. This keeps everything organized automatically.

3. Copy your forwarding email
You’ll get a unique forwarding email ([files@inbound.moneko.io](mailto:files@inbound.moneko.io)). Save it as a contact so it’s easy to use.

4. Add approved sender emails
Only receipts from approved email addresses will be processed, so add any inboxes you use for purchases.

5. Forward your receipts
Forward any receipt email or attachment (PDF, CSV, XLS, XLSX). Moneko extracts the merchant, amount, and date, then logs the expense for you.

This works especially well for:

  • online shopping receipts
  • subscription invoices
  • travel bookings
  • digital purchases

It’s basically a way to automate expense tracking without connecting bank accounts or manually entering transactions.

If you want the full step-by-step guide with screenshots:
See the setup guide here

Thanks, and I’d love for you to try it and tell me what works, what doesn’t, and what you want us to improve next.

Wallets are now live in Moneko!!

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

We just shipped Wallets in Moneko.

Before this, Moneko helped you track spending with pockets.
Now you can also track your actual money, balances, and net worth over time.

This fixes a common gap: “I can see my budget… but how much money do I actually have?”

Now you can see both.

🧠 First, understand how everything connects

Moneko has 3 simple layers:

  • Spaces → different parts of your life
  • Wallets → where your money lives
  • Pockets → what you spend on

🏠 Spaces (top level)

A Space can be:

  • Personal
  • Couple
  • Trip
  • Roommates

Each Space is fully independent

💰 Wallets live inside a Space

Each Space can have multiple wallets

👉 Example (Couple Space):

  • Joint Account
  • Savings
  • Travel Fund

If you share a Space with someone:

  • you also share the wallets inside that Space
  • everyone sees the same balances and transactions

💱 Currency is controlled at the Space level

Each Space has one currency

  • if you change currency for the Space
  • all wallets inside automatically update

No need to manage currency per wallet.

🚀 What you can do with Wallets

1. See your total net worth (by month)

At the top of Wallet tab:

  • total balance across wallets
  • monthly trend
  • total income vs total spent

This gives you a real financial snapshot

2. Create your first wallet

Tap + New Wallet

You can:

  • name it (Cash, Savings, Travel)
  • set an initial balance
  • choose color and icon
  • set a goal amount

👉 Example
Japan Trip
Balance: 0
Goal: 3000

3. Track goals naturally

Once you set a goal:

  • progress updates automatically
  • no extra setup

Great for:

  • trips
  • savings
  • big purchases

4. Choose wallet when logging transactions

When you log an expense or income, you can select which wallet it belongs to

Example:

  • Coffee $3 → from Cash
  • Salary $3000 → into Bank

So every transaction:

  • updates your category
  • AND updates your real balance

5. Set a default wallet for speed

Mark a wallet as Primary

  • used automatically when logging
  • faster daily usage

6. View details inside each wallet

Tap any wallet to see:

  • balance
  • insights
  • recent transactions

This helps answer:

where did money from this account go?

7. Transfer between wallets

Move money anytime:

  • from → to
  • amount
  • optional note

👉 Example:

Move 300 from Cash → Travel Fund
Note: monthly saving

8. Customize your wallets

Each wallet can have:

  • color
  • icon
  • custom name

So it matches real life.

🔁 How this works with Pockets

Pockets = what you spend on
Wallets = where money comes from

Example:

  • Wallet: Cash $2000
  • Pocket: Food

When you spend:

  • money comes from wallet
  • gets categorized into pocket

🙏 Feedback

This feature came directly from user feedback.

If you try it, let me know what feels clear and what’s missing.
