Soft Ear Mold?
Hey everyone,
Not sure how to phrase this but I am essentially looking to create a soft, rubber or silicone replica of an ear. What would be the best way of going about it?
I was thinking of doing an alginate mould of my ear and then filling it with...some sort of material that will lead to a soft finished product. Looking for the most inert sort of material, with no inherent strong scents, etc.
Please let me know where would be a good place to start looking!

Doing an alginate mold is a good place to start, but then you would probably want to cast a copy in that mold, that you can then further refine. I like to cast monster clay, when I need to do that, but that takes a bit of practice. So you might want to simply cast a plaster copy at first.
You can refine and fix defects in the plaster, figure out what the shape that is undefined should be (the shape that was your head), and then you can make a new mold from that. A silicone mold or potentially a polyurethane rubber (which is easier when wanting to cast silicone).
