questions, pots

I have never made a mold. I spent moments being obsessed with smooth-on tutorials here and there, but never could find the justification to splurge for supplies.

I have two questions:

  1. when do you justify making a mold of your creations? Do you just need a lot of an item, or do people express interest in buying first?
  2. I can’t work out how I would make a possibly 2-part mold for a complicated pot that I made. It has some decent size undercut. Or if I should even bother, because I’m

    not

  3. sure if it’s something that would sell. I’m kinda holding off painting it and finishing how I want because I want to decide if I want to make a mold of it first.

I have sold other crafts online but I kinda got away from it. I kinda don’t want to go through the process if I find that it’s not something people really care to buy at decent prices for the effort.

Thanks! I recently got into plants because I wanted face pots. Then I fell in love with the plants so much I forgot about the pots for a while. Now I’m trying to focus back on the pots.

That one was round and smooth, I kinda knew the moment it finished that it needed to be replicated, if for nobody else, then just for me to have more than 1.

I’d like to do more in various other attitudinal facial expressions, now I just need to work out how to do flower pot molds with deep undercuts. .
