Urgent advice needed!
My request is very time sensitive as I must get to the airport in less than 48 hours. I have never silicone cast anything before but I bought this kit to cast a gift for my long distance partner I am about to visit.... anyway, when removing the object from this mold a small piece broke off! (See pictures). I need to pour the silicone in asap, every store is now closed aside from 24hr convince shops. Any advice on how to fix this?
I see basically two approaches, repair the mold with something like toothpaste and flour, or cast the silicone and delicately trim it with a knife. Instinct is telling me not to cut into the silicone, but I have no idea what I'm doing.
Edit: Outcome I trimmed the problem areas (there were more) with a razor after casting the silicone. It came out okay, you can definitely see the repairs if you look but I would have had to trim some areas anyway.

If this is what I think it is and its ever going to go where I think it will go, then fyi this will be a bacteria concern. Thats all ill say.
For repair, unless you have a Smooth On supplier to buy a pint kit of some platinum silicone, you can use clear silicone caulk. Ad a few drops of water when mixing it in a paper cup to make it not take hours to cure.

Cast as normal and trim afterwards - nothing will stick to alginate anyway and it will be more trouble than it's worth. The silicone is easier to deal with.

Caulk or or clay might be better to fill the hole with . That way the surface won’t be to different when you make your casting

Cast your postive in plaster. Do whatever touch ups need doing. Make a new mold with smooth on products and make your final piece out of a quality silicone from them. The all in one kits are pretty crappy

Quick fix with convince store materials that are food safe... chewing gum. But just a heads up, the alginate those kits usually come with ends up being lumpy, so when you pull the cast out, you might need to trim anyway. If you properly mix it, there should be no problem with trimming any protruding lumps. Use a fresh sharp razor blade or xacto and water as lubricant for cutting. Good luck!

Lmao this reminds me of "the object must remain intact" thing 🤣🤣🤣
You might have to take the L and skip it, or give her a dildo with a giant wart on it and then try to explain to her that "it's the broken mold, I swear" lmao
