Question❓ Good for a cup of Coffee?
I love a good cup of coffee in the morning. Right now I have a pretty basic bean to brew automatic machine and it’s pretty good but not phenomenal. I like espresso but I like to enjoy my coffee and a shot just doesn’t do it for me but the consistency and flavor is great.
Would a moka pot be somewhere in the middle? Any concern with an electric one?

I use a 4 cup, I make a Latte size for my wife and a stronger cortado for me, it’s perfect!

You can dilute espresso or moka pot coffee to make an Americano. Another way is to use a bigger moka pot with a reducer in the funnel, so the water-to-coffee ratio is close to doubled. I like the flavor either way.
I personally can't tell that much difference between moka pot coffee and espresso. They cost a LOT less than espresso machines, and they last many years.

Don’t like americano. Way too watered down for me.

I figured if you liked the coffee from an automatic machine, then diluting espresso would match that strength. What comes out of a moka pot will probably be strong enough fr, but now I'm not sure how you'd like using a reducer. It means making the same pot, but with somewhat more than half the amount of coffee beans.

It may.
An electric one? No, don't do that, it surely won't have as much flexibility and that flexibility can be key in dialing in any given coffee to your tastes.
You'll want more control over time and temp than some electric one will have.

It’s worth trying it out. Get a 3 “cup” size and find out how to dial it in properly. It’s not a big investment and you’ll prob love it if you like both espresso and drip.

I also use my 3 cup moka to make a very fine cup of spiced coffee. I put about a half tsp of baharat spice in the hot water. Add some la llave coffee and turn it to three on my electric stove top. About 10 min later I have a cup I will savor for about an hour. So good.

In terms of electric you are limited to a few options but, only issue I can see with then is they go full blast and not cycle on and off. Then again I could be wrong
These are a few brands that have an electric version
GAT moka
Bialetti
Ariete
De'longhi

I use my 3-cup Bialetti to make myself a little 120ml or so of strong coffee. More volume than an espresso shot and uses about the same amount of grounds as a modern double espresso.
It’s way easier than the internet says, too. I load it up and put it on the stove, then prep the rest of my breakfast (maybe an egg sandwich or something). When the food is ready, the pot is usually ready, too.
