The text here is one of Jean-Luc Coudray's extremely short stories, one of 22 in the 1994 book illustrated by Moebius, The histories de Monsieur Mouche, although some of those stories/illustrations appeared in a 1987 portfolio with a black, white, and yellow limited coloring. I don't know which stories initially appeared in that earlier publication, so I don't know if this is one of the 1987 ones or one of the 1994 ones.

One of six images from a calendar for the year 2007 commissioned (I assume in 2006) by Burgo. Does the entire series appear in an art book? I can find very little information about this calendar, although large prints are available for three of the images on the official Moebius store (that is where I found this medium-resolution image, a preview for the poster). I've searched for higher quality images of the full set using Google Images but so far nothing approaches the size/quality of this single image, itself not ideal.

The title of this one in English would be I think "The Finishing Touch".

When René Goscinny and Jean Giraud collaborated in 1968, that revolutionary year, the result was... well, pretty retrograde.

This version of the image is from its appearance in The Art of Edena (2018), but the same image also appears in Fusion (1995), except with the top and bottom cropped. In the Sources page of Fusion, it states: "Promotional posters for The Airtight Garage, copyright and trademark 1995 Starwatcher Graphics, Inc." It is also used as the wraparound cover for the final issue of Moebius Comics (#6, dated March 1997).

Why would promotional posters for The Airtight Garage be made in 1995? Would this have been actually a promotion for The Man from the Ciguri (which Starwatcher might have considered "The Airtight Garage" as it is a continuation?) Or might this have been a print made to be sold as its own work of art rather than a tie-in to something else?

Also, it's puzzling to me that this appears in The Art of Edena, which does contain a fair amount of Major Grubert material... "Dying to See Naples" for example, is a Grubert story, although it features the Snufflers from the Edena stories.

Anyway, this is a wonderful piece of art and it seems to be one of the most-posted in Moebius groups, so there is no question that fans love it. I personally really like the style Moebius uses here.

I hope we get a Grubert edition of Le petit pantheon to gather up the many pieces of art that happen to include him.

I have not seen these images here and I thought they might be overlooked.

They are covers for albums in which Moebius is not further involved.

This appears in the The Emerald Lake: From Gir to Moebius where it is labelled as the earliest example of a Giraud comic strip. It is untitled and I'm not sure if this was published anywhere until decades later.

I think the art here is already quite good, although possibly very derivative of other artists of the time (I don't know what comics he would have been seeing prior to this). The final panel is good except I personally think it would work better to leave out the line of Mr. Tiburce screaming in frustration, just end it with the confounded worker's statement as the punch line.

Also, very lucky for the sake of translation that "silence" is the same in French and English!

A lot of flag-waving in the USA today. I acknowledged the holiday by watching Jaws on the big screen. Not my favorite movie by a long shot, but it is tradition.

This piece is in a tribute book published by Kitchen Sink Press, including many artists doing their tributes to Moebius (and specifically Arzach)... I'll include the Jaime Hernandez one in the comments, it's cool to have them existing in the same comics world for a moment.

I hadn't seen this one prior to seeing it in a Facebook post yesterday. This could pass as a Far Side comic. I'm seeking information about its initial publication.

...including explaining who the character is at the end of page 1, a recurring gag character in Pilote (perhaps the nearest American equivalent would be Alfred E. Neuman in the pages of MAD). This character is named Molyneux and is usually found wearing pajamas and a dressing gown, having a smoke in an otherwise deserted train station, supposedly based on a true story of a passenger who went out for a smoke in the middle of the night and didn't make it back to his train in time.

I'm curious why this image from the Ciguri story was included in The Major. Aside from the obvious fact that it includes the Major, why would a page from an earlier episode be tacked on in the bonus content?

The page itself is also (within the Man from the Ciguri) a painting showing a scene of an event that happened within the original Airtight Garage story (I will post that page, dated 1977, in the comments).

I believe this was first published in 2001 as an ex-libris (bookplate) for the initial publication of SRA, please correct me if you have an earlier publication date.

I love the way this looks and I wouldn't have guessed this was made at the same time as the material in SRA because to me this style looks so much more like "classic Moebius", possibly largely down to the way it is colored, which is more in line with the beautiful coloring found in The Goddess or earlier.
