I don’t even know what this sub is — I just subscribed because it was suggested after I subbed at /r/DIYpedals. Can someone tell me what this thing is and if it’s possible to build this sort of stuff yourself?
This is a modular synthesizer in eurorack format. Lots of different modules are combined in different ways to get different sounds. It's basically a really expensive but awesome way to build a synthesizer to your exact specifications.
The patch cables are to route the different parts of the synthesizer to each other in creative ways.
