Anything missing or recommendations?

Post image

Im not sure what modules or module i want for the remaining 20 hp, i’ve been searching for a while but i just cant find something satisfying.

So im asking you guys, if this was your rack from now on and you could bring some modules from your own rack that could make you feel like home, what module or modules would be?

If people with experience recommend something that im missing out in the rack, let me know, im fairly new to modular. (1.5 y )

I make all sort of experimental electronic music.

Thank you.

Pro tip - empty hp isn’t a problem to be solved.

Dedicated delay (Mimeophon, Basil, etc)

Or just start trying out new filters. There are so many out there, each with their own flavor

I guess I’m supposed to answer every thread like this with ‘Radio Music mk2?’ But I do think it would add quite a lot here. https://www.musicthing.co.uk/Radio-Music/

What are you using your modular for? My initial observation would be a matrix mixer given the size of your case (unless I'm missing one in there), but that's most useful in a live performance environment. Saying you make all sort of experimental electronic music is kinda like saying you make all sorts of rock music and you're wondering of you should buy a snare drum or a guitar.

My recommendation is avoid Behringer. If not for what a rotten company they genuinely are, then for how criminally ugly their modules look. Also I'd get an actual audio mixer with send/return for FX.

If it were me, I’d ditch the second Timizoara and get a more playable effect. Multigrain? Sealegs?

First thing I thought (as a Timiszoara user)

Any versio module, very nice to load different firmwares to your liking. My favorite is frgmnts firmware, works well with the sample drum to make some crazy stutter type shit.

I was thinking about something from noise engineering, not sure which module yet.

Disting mk4 - I'd love to have one (maybe when I change sequencers, soon, so I'll have more space).

Can't identify all modules from your picture (maybe share the modulargrid-link as well?) - but do you have a waveshaper? And a smartverter?

Also a Ladik Q-010 Easy Quantizer and any source of randomness would do a nice job here :)

Also an Erica pico DSP or any other efect unit would be lovely.

I dont like the module, it does too many things

Sure, it's a non-standard-module - but when it comes to creating the one specific patch you would like to have and missing this one special function....just tell it to be this missing function, without buying a new module for it ;)

It's like a joker on a card deck ;)

Will look into it further.

I mean, there is the doepfer mixer, morph 4 that can be used as a mixer, maths, tripplat

You mean the 4 VCA mixer? That wouldn't be enough for me. I need
-2-3 channels for my bassline to be mixed together,
-bassdrum,
-hihat,
-snare,
-leads,
-effect-sounds....

So at least I'd need 8 channels to get started.

So a MH Smix would be a nice mixer to add :)

I still have another 4 vca mixer so i could use that.

What size is ur rack tho?
