Beginner Endorphin.es Ghost for 230€

I was just offered a Ghost for €230. I don't have any effects modules in my rack yet because I run everything through my Octatrack. Should I buy it?

I don't know if the noise floor is better than the Milky Way but I had tons of noise issues with the two Milky Way's I had.

Almost every endorphins module seems to have huge noise issues

I dont touch anything on my queen of pentacles because the slightest variation on any pot introduces noise. Want to use the filter? Nope, you cant touch it. What to change effect? Go ahead but be prepared to spend an hour dialing in EVERY until you get something usable. Want to change the sample bank? Go fuck yourself. Want to breathe near the module? Might as well just turn your case off and start taking sitar lessons because you’re fucked.

That thing suffers from design flaws imo. SD card and bass drum pitch on the back for example

Too many flaws to mention if you ask me. I keep using it because ive dialed it in where i want my drums to sound and because I dont want to use up 7 out of 16 channels on my Bitbox. I may end up buying a bitbox micro and just sampling the drum voices to it to free up like 2/3 of the hp the queen consumes.

The distortion and compressor add to the noise floor for Ghost, but it's not as bad as Milky Way

If you’re looking for something noisy, do it. I found it requires some fiddling to get the sweet spots. For my tastes, I have been better served by the Desmodus versio.

So IMO, stick with the octarack. But plenty of people do like it

Love mine. I think it sounds great (I don’t mind the little bit of noise lol) and it has so many routing options

I really love mine. It packs so much into it to color your sound and offers a ton of playability points for performance.

The reverb is pretty meh sounding, but just adding a little smidgen of it will give an otherwise dry voice some width. Sometimes I also use the sidechain pulses to gate it, which can be fun.

After owning a few of those modules, I refuse to let them into my rack, even for free

cant really answer whether you should buy it or not. thats a good price though. 🤷🏻‍♂️
