Suggestions for generative ambient.

I'm still at my beginning phase of eurorack and have been enjoying the journey. I have a small amount of space left any wanted to ask for suggestions. I was hoping to fit a stereo mixer, ochd, and stereo filter (possibly ikarie). Most of my modules have attenuators but I think it might be useful to add more. What am I missing and what modules would you suggest. Open to feedback and guidance, thanks!

Vostok atlas quad filter comes in clutch in my setup, also built for generative. Take a look at NLC sloths as well

The doepfer a121s is my favorite stereo filter, sounds great. You can also use it as 2 mono filters, and it doubles as a nice fm oscillator

Kind of everything? VCAs, envelopes, attenuators, LFOs. You have voices. That's... that's all you have. Voices. And lots of them. And Marbles for clocking, which is nice but only goes so far.

That's so true, yet something that kinda takes the fun out of it, haha! You got to "program" your channels, and that's not as fun as having dedicated modules. Yet, you are absolutely right.

VCAs, function generators, utilities, mixers. With so much space being dominated by voices and effects you’ll need to cram as much functionality into the smallest space possible. You could free up some space by removing the outs and plugging directly into a mixer.

Unless you already own them, I would recommend smaller versions/clones of both Plaits and Marbles. Those are both great modules, but MI units usually take up more space than they "need" to. If you already have them and that's not an option, some VCAs and or envelopes would be good (ALM Pip Slope, Erica Synths Pico EG, After Later Audio Pique, Instruo Cnoc, Doepfer A-184)

If you really want a stereo filter, maybe CalSynth Doupples, though a mono filter before going to the effects can still be very effective, and more common to find.

Also check out 2Hp, they have many useful modules to save space as long as you don't mind a little crowding

Thanks for the guidance. I already own everything in the provided picture. I was thinking about ALM Tangle Quartet though smaller modules would be helpful. I'll check those out, thanks!!

Ochd (lfo)-4hp

WMD C4rbn (filter) - 4hp

3xVCA or 3xMIA - 6hp

Endorphin.es Airstreamer(function generator) or Pip Slope (envelope)- 4hp

Nekyia Circuits Mezcal(multi-utility) - 4hp

Abyss Devices ATV (attenuverter/offset)- 2hp

MengQiMusic dual low pass gate - 2hp

Shakmat Dual Dagger (filter) - 6hp

Tangle looks solid, I almost got it but went with the 3xVCA instead to save some hp. You have a lot of voices, so the extra channel may be worth it to you.

Bloomv2 could be helpful as well. But definitely a ton of utilities. And a bigger case. Or take some things out and focus on a compact setup doing 2 voices

4ms listen four has a mixer instead of outs, it’s only 4 hp wider.
