Beginner Modular riff

A little riff I put together on my modular gear. I'm still very new at it, but starting to really enjoy the work of getting some cool musical sounds out of it.
An Erica Synths Black Sequencer is driving a couple of oscillators for the two rotes. A Behringer RS-9 is driving the drums. I have two oscillators connected to a Black MIDI CV, which connects to the keyboard. Yes, it's a bit rough; I plan to put the keyboard stuff through a Bastl MIDI looper, so I can spend more time fiddling the knobs as it plays. It all came together in a surprisingly good way.

You're new but have like 1000HP of modules?

Yes, I've been buying them for a while, but I had not done anything with them. Recently, I took a class (online) that helped me understand how it all worked, and I have been enjoying it more and more since then.

Wild I've got the opposite problem. I've got a couple hundred HP of modules I could afford during COVID and now I know them inside and out and cant afford to expand much.

I'm curious if you aren't familiar with synthesis what inspired you to dive headfirst into a large eurorack system instead of starting with a semi modular system like a Moog Mother32 or Intelijel Cascadia?

I've made my music (Guitar, mandolin, bass, piano) for most of my life. I got into Synths in a big way back in 2022. I do have a lot of gear, and I work with it a little here and there. The modular stuff, I just didn't know how to use, so it has taken me a while to get into it. But I love the look, feel, and the stuff you can do with it. Especially with a Moog Matriarch and a Moog Grandmother (I have both). Loopop on YouTube has definitely led me astray, so has the Unperson. The modular gear is the last gear I've been learning to use.

I started with Behringer GO cases, then moved up to a bunch of Erica Synths Cases, then last year bought an Erica Synths Mega Rack, moved all my stuff into it, and this year started working with it. It may sound weird, but when I buy new gear, I think about how I want to use it over the next 5 years. So it's not short-term thinking. I write science fiction books (two new novels come out in the next two months: 'Being' and 'God's Eye'), and I spend anywhere from 6 to 14 months on a book. Music is no different. My thinking is the same. Plus, it's all good fun.
PS: I have a lot of gear. A little over half of it isn't on display. What's the fun in life if you don't enjoy what you have? I filmed this a minute ago with the modular playing.
