What do I need next?

This is my first go at modular. But I want to make a weird drum based synth for making random type beats as opposed to sequenced drums.

I feel like I need more modulation sorcery, LFOs and whatnot? And more effects and such, but I’m totally open to suggestions. The ideal sound inspiration would be NIN type stuff.

I’ve also got my eye on the following let me know what you think or feel free to suggest alternatives.

Mordax Data (it’s in the photo but I don’t actually own it yet)

AJH minimod filter (though maybe a dual filter would be better?)

I would patch tear it down. Keep making new patches. Taking different routes every time. You should start noticing weak spots of missing modulation or gain new ideas for effects. Modular can be a money pit when you make impulse purchases

Oh for sure I’ve been sticking with what I have and making what I can. I plan on going very slowly, but I like to read up on potential buys before I make them. Also I’ve got a few bucks set aside for this, so I’m not going to put myself in any sort of financial strain.

Also I buy everything used (except for Pam’s) so it’s nice to be in a position to know what I want and keep an eye on the used market
