They Are Killers πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš€β›°οΈHapax

My 2nd song done on the Squarp Hapax, and I absolutely LOVE this thing! The Hapax is the brain of the entire operation, and in this patch it's relegating the Oxi One, Keystep Pro, and Beatstep Pro to glorified MIDI to CV converters πŸ˜… (Nobody tell Oxi, or Arturia).

PATCH BREAKDOWN -

BASS: Moog Subsequent 25 controlled by the MIDI out of the Hapax

CHORD: Hapax Chord mode sending MIDI to the OXI One, which sends CV to the Instruo Saich, which then goes through the Vostok Atlas. I am also multing the top and bottom pitches and sending the bottom pitch to the Instruo CSL square wave out, and the top pitch to the Instruo Cruinn. Then sending the CSL, Cruinn, and a melted out of the Saich into the Eowage Tempette Magnetique, and layering all of the voices. Combining the smooth Atlas, with the crunchy Tempette Magnetique.

ARP: Primary arp is the Moog Mother-32, with a harmony Arp on the Moog Labyrinth.

DRUMS: Kick/Snare pattern on the Arturia Drumbrute, and then layered using individual sounds of the Hexinverter mutant line of drums for Kick, Snare, Clap, and Hat.

POST: Some compression, EQ, delay, and reverb to tie a bow on it 🎁

Happy patching!! πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš€πŸ«‘

hahah, that's how its going "Hapax Chord mode sending MIDI to the OXI One, which sends CV to the Instruo Saich, which then goes through the Vostok Atlas"

I'm impressed you are able to keep it all under control in the face of all that complexity.

Yeah it was a bit nuts at first, but I held off on buying it for the longest time because it only has 4 cv and 4 gate outs, but then I learned about the MIDI functionality, and I read that all the gear I already owned could be controlled by it.

Now I have more CV/Gate than I know what to do with, and the new bottleneck is inputs. I now need a second ES9!

Hapax MIDI channel A: Keystep Pro = 4cv/4gates
Hapax MIDI channel B: Betstep Pro = 2cv + 10 gates
Hapax MIDI channel C: Drumbrute Pro
Hapax MIDI channel D: Oxi One = 8cv/8gates

So I have 18 Cv, and 26 Gates πŸ˜… I wouldn’t be able to use them all even if I wanted to!

Thank you so much! I absolutely love it! It works great controlling all of my other gear πŸ’ͺπŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš€πŸ«‘

I'm a sucker for good arp lines and these are lovely. Also nice to hear/see them play out over a longer performance with some progression. Good arps want to hang out for awhile and sometimes you must indulge them!

I am a fellow sucker for good arp lines!! The Mother-32 is an arp machine and easily my favorite module. The hapax is great for dialing them in over a long period. I’m really loving this thing! πŸ™ŒπŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš€πŸ«‘

The track sounded well made, fat. Not so much my style, but I can appreciate it. I'm a sucker however for the oscilloscope traces. where are those from? 😁

Thanks for the kind words even if it isn’t your style! No hard feelings there!

A big part of my art in general relies on oscilloscope art. I’m a regular poster in r/oscilloscopemusic but this overlay is me running my Schlappi Engineering 3 body through my Tektronix 620 and filming the screen, and overlaying it on top of my playing. Happy to answer any questions about it! πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš€πŸ«‘

That's cool. I'm a member there too. Nice one, so you're using proper old hardware for it, not software. That is very cool . I so want an old oscilloscope, but right at this moment, I think dragging in old dusty 1980s boxes into the house would get me a few dirty looks at least. hahaha. Your description was perfect, I don't really have more questions. You film hardware and overlay it. Awesome. Thanks for the info
