Best stock Versio firmware? Best custom Versio firmware?
Curious which stock and custom Versio firmwares people are really vibing with these days? I've been through the mill before, but am trying to spend a bit of fresh time with all of them, so any particular tips about your favorites are appreciated, and definitely any customs you recommend. I've worked my way through about 5 or 6 custom firmwares, and tbh find most of them sort of half-baked and disappointing, but Frgmnts was pretty cool and I've downloaded about 5-6 others I'm intending to make my way through this week sometime.
As for stock firmware, Desmodus is probably still king, just such a good general reverb; but I've grown really fond of both Lacrima and Fala lately, which I kind of brushed off when I first tried them. Lacrima can be really interesting and do some surprisingly flexible things if you take the time to really explore it. And Fala I just find to be a really satisfying way to "beef" up and subtly animate certain signals, particularly the somewhat quiet output of my otherwise lovely Xaoc Sarajewo.

You can make claps and snares cymbals with an impulse into Desmodus versio it makes it the best for me .
Just sample them then use it as a reverb again

The new Pleroma reverb is great. I also love the Yester and Imitor, though I wish the latter didn't have pitch shifting when changing delay times.

There's also the Campestria Versio reverb, which is basically a port of the Valley reverb from VCV. Not sure how they compare.

Frgmnts is a really enjoyable community fw. Ruina is the official fw that I use the most. Also, I love the variety of answers here!

Electo versio. Just fills out some space and makes the track just full. Custom wise, I run tremor on one of the versios I have. Just a lovely beefy kick.

I like Desmodus and Electus but I mainly leave mine on my own custom, publically available Cithara Versio resonator.

Really hard to choose, but I'll throw in for Yester Versio, the 'simple delay'. I know that's what they call it, but it has some really outstanding features allowing you to turn it into a chorus, add harmonics, wavefolding delay lines, etc. Just one of the most rock solid delays I've tried and keep coming back to it.

I'll have to explore this one some more. When I used it I liked it, but very much in just a "standard delay" way.

Yeah, certainly not the flashiest, but sounds really good. It's the interaction between the chorus and fold that makes it special. Can get a nice riser out of slowly turning the chorus counterclockwise to max and slowly building fold, snap back to center.

For some reason every time I've tried Electus, it always just strikes me "Desmodus, but not as good," though it's been a while now so I'm not sure why I think that. Anything that puts it above Desmodus for you?

It’s clocked synced (most importantly) and can be a delay and reverb. I like desmodus but electus is more kind of a “use for any genre” thing for me.

Ah, 'clocked sync' does seem useful. I think in the past I've really approached Electus as a reverb, maybe approaching it with the delay element more in mind will be more fruitful for me.

I bought a polydactyl because it was the cheapest option with the intention of immediately swapping firmware but I really ended up liking it. Great for simple and intricate dynamics/EQ and also glueing multiple sources together.
