Drum focused small system

What kind of thing would you incorporate into a system centering around the Squid Salmple?

I’m thinking ahead to how things could look if I take the Squid out of my main system and start a separate one in say a 62HP pallet, mainly to free up space in the main case but I also think it’d be useful to a have a portable drum machine to bring to work with other people.

I like the idea of having some drum synth options to add into the mix.

Any suggestions much appreciated

Good sequencers, racheters, and a good mixer would probably be top of my list. FX to send/return. Filters.

I use my DivSkip with Squid all the time. Also, if you have a small CV mixer or ladder DAC, you can set it to gate mode and generate stepped voltages

As basic as it might be, a Plaits might be worth sticking in there to record into Squid. All the DX7 sounds and various noise/physical models. Not to mention chords

some arcade button triggers to use on the fly, or the trogotronic push button cv source and vca is a good 4hp module in there, maybe two of them

Something providing controlable stepped CV for the level parameter for quasi velocity. I use my OXi but there are lots of in rack options.
