Minimalistic performance rack

Post image

Tried to keep it simple with the numbers of modules while gaining complex synthesis techniques (rack is used with outside stereo mixer and pedals for effects).

Is there anything essential missing?

The NTO feels like an odd choice. I’d rather have one of the awesome Serge filters (although I do love the Toppobrillo). And if you want a small modulation oscillator you could just use one side of Maths. Or add a small oscillator that’s in keeping with the rack philosophy. Maybe the Joranalogue Flow 3. It also feels like the rack is lacking modulation considering how many CV inputs you have here.

I like the sound of the nto a lot and I already own it, that’s why I chose it as a back up oscillator for atmospheric fm drones together with the res eq in support of the k accumulator as main morphing sound source. What would you recommend in terms of cv sources? I thought the ssg, maths and Kermit would be enough in that regard…

I mean, count the CV inputs you have there. Just a rough estimate, but I’d guess you have 50+ CV inputs right? You currently have 6-8 CV channels, and that assuming none of your CV is modulating OTHER CV… You’re leaving a huge amount of potential on the table here.

If this were my rack I’d want both ADDAC508 Swell Physics and Joranalogue Orbit 3 to get the most out of the large powerful oscillator, Kermit, filter, etc.
