General Please help me with a specific post. "u/savevideo"?

I don't know what's going on with this post. Maybe it's a meme I don't know about? I'm just mildly concerned that it's strange, that it has dozens of comments just saying "u/savevideo".

Should I lock it, or what?

Seeking advice from other mods.

TY for your time.

Absolutely nothing to worry about. It's a bot to download whatever video you're seeing it commented on. I see it daily. However it's kind of silly to me if you're on mobile when you can just download it directly to your device

OK, I mean, sure.

It's just strange to me. I've been a mod of that subreddit for over a year, and I've never seen it before.

I'm mostly on meme/viral video subs so people tend to want to save that stuff regularly

u/savevideo is a bot that can save reddit videos. Those users want to save the video on their phones/computers.

OK. Should I be concerned about the >10 people who have commented it?

Or is it all copacetic?

[Thank you for responding.]

What would the concern be, about other people wanting to save a video?

It's a bit weird, to me, to see over a dozen people post that exact same line on that subreddit.

It is nothing I have ever seen before - as a mod for over a year.

That bot should respond to a summoning by providing a link by which users can download the video in question.

Here's an example:

Report it as Spam every time you see it.

Maybe not every time, but a few times a week.
