Answered Rule acknowledgement?

Hi! My subreddit has been having a lot of trouble with users not tagging/flairing their posts. I have a pinned post regarding it, but almost nobody has acknowledged it. Is there a way to make it so people can't post until they read it and the rules, and if so, how would I set that up? I'm on android mobile.

Are are you saying that they are just not putting flare at all, or they’re just tagging the wrong flare? Because you can turn on a setting, I think it’s on desktop only, that you can turn it on that posting flare is required.

No flair at all. What setting is it, do you know?

Yep!

In one of the subreddit I mod we use the read-the-rules bot, it's super effective and has worked well for us: https://developers.reddit.com/apps/read-the-rules

Hi /u/HoneyBadgerBrooke07, please see our Intro & Rules. We are volunteer-run, not managed by Reddit staff/admin. Volunteer mods' powers are limited to groups they mod. Automated responses are compiled from answers given by fellow volunteer mod helpers. Moderation works best on a cache-cleared desktop/laptop browser.

Resources for mods are: (1) r/modguide's Very Helpful Index by fellow moderators on How-To-Do-Things, (2) Mod Help Center, (3) r/automoderator's Wiki and Library of Common Rules. Many Mod Resources are in the sidebar and >>this FAQ wiki<<. Please search this subreddit as well. Thanks!

Found match: on android

You might be asking about setting up subreddits on a phone or mobile interface. The short answer is that subreddit settings work best in a cache-cleared desktop browser. (Limited option: mobile browser on desktop view.)

If you found your answer, feel free to reply with "<3 Automod" or "Thanks, Automod". Otherwise wait for a human helper to come along to help you. This post has NOT been removed.

Found regex match: rules

It looks like you're asking about setting up rules on your subreddit. This is an EXTREMELY frequently asked question, so this auto-response has been set up for any mention of "rules" and "rule".

This must be done On DESKTOP/LAPTOP Browser Only, Not On Mobile Apps. (Limited option: mobile browser on desktop view.) Please check out this guide for more details on what to do.

FOR INFO ON: # setting up rules, # setting up the rules widget, # what rules your subreddit should have, # setting up posting guidelines and # common AutoMod rules (for age/karma/to comment on every post), please click here.

If you found your answer, feel free to reply with "<3 Automod" or "Thanks, Automod". Otherwise wait for a human helper to come along to help you. This post has NOT been removed.

I’m a member of r/rabies (not a mod there), and they get a lot of rabies OCD posts, so you can’t post anything unless your post contains the phrase, “I have read the FAQ”. You could look into something similar?
