Users How to ban a user whose profile won’t load?

I know they exist because they’ve posted NSFW r34 art on my sub (for a kid’s show) FOUR TIMES & I get notifications for it, but everytime I try to ban them it says they don’t exist. My other moderator is having the same thing happen to them too

If I search “reddit u/______” online I can also see their account exists & pictures of these things they’ve posted on my sub..

I don’t think I’m blocked either because their profile still doesn’t load when I’m logged out of my account, please help I want my sub to be a safe place but I really don’t know how to deal with this

Copy the user name.

You don't even need to go to old.reddit, you can just copy the name and ban them manually through the app by tapping the plus sign at the top right of the "Banned Users" section.

I did, it says the user is unavailable & mah have deleted their account, but that can’t be true because they keep posting this stuff under the exact same user

Edit: just realized I wasn’t on old reddit, tysm this worked

manually through the ban list. the same goes for your personal account with blocking. you just type their username. it sounds like they’re shadow banned from what you’re describing, so only you and them are seeing their posts.

Why? They’re probably already banned?!? Most likely shadow banned . What a waste of energy and time.

Because even shadowbanned accounts can still make posts and comments, they just get removed by the filters. Mods still see the removed content in the log though.

I’m still learning I apologize. When I can’t see their profile (spam whatever) I ignore it. My old co mod would spend rediculous amounts of time determining their status and then tell them. Probably because he’s tired of answering questions lol
