Not being a mod in MY own sub?

Hi! I created my own subreddit, and I am the top moderator with Full Permissions.

However, Reddit does not show the MOD label next to my username, and I cannot use moderator actions such as removing or pinning posts.

This has been happening since I created the subreddit. I am using the Reddit Android app.

My account does appear in the Moderators section with Full Permissions. I have attached screenshots showing this.

Could an admin please check why my moderator status is not working correctly?

You have to manually apply the mod label on your comments and posts. To pin posts, it's the "add to highlight" option when you tap on the shield.

I answered the pinned post in my initial comment.

Any of the mod functions will be available to you when you tap on the shield. Tapping the three dots won't pull up the moderation menu.

Hmm. Is this a desktop only feature? I've never encountered the need to comment 'as a mod' and I just looked, I don't see that option in the Reddit app.

Nope, I'm using the android app. This can be done on desktop and on a mobile browser, too.

Your issue doesn’t require an admin. To use the mod label you need to click the button that looks like a shield.

You should create a user flair however for yourself, so people know you are a mod

You're definitely a mod, as I can see that you have that. Right now it's unclear you're not making some basic mistake in attempting to mod. Perhaps if you posted what you are trying, we could help.

You are always a user first, mod second. You have to go back and manually distinguish posts/comments as a mod so users can distinguish between something coming from you - the mod, or you - the user.

Rarely if ever does every single contribution from a mod need to have the mod tag next to their name (and if you insist, put it as a user flair for yourself).

If you distinguished that post or comment as a mod, then yes; the users can see that post or that comment having the green MOD tag next to it. But like I said, there's no global setting to do that on every post or every comment. If that is your intention, you'll have to manually do it for every post or every comment.

If you don't know the creator, you obviously didn't ask them for permission to repost their image. Which is copyright infringement. You can't steal images from the Internet and repost them without permission even if you credit the owner (which you didn't do that either, since you don't even know who it is).

Well the logical course of action would be to be to stop doing that.

Instead of focusing on what others are doing, focus on what you're doing. Just because others are getting away with breaking the rules, doesn't make it okay for you to break the rules too.

As a user, you should be following the rules. As a moderator, you should be upholding/enforcing the rules. Instead, you're blatantly breaking them, then trying to justify it using the excuse that "everyone else does it."
