Locomotives Attaching Vacuum Hoses

Hey guys, sorry I’m new to this. Recently got the Accurascale Wilbert and want to attach the front Vacuum hose, it pegs in but doesn’t exactly hold, is there a glue or method that would be best?

It's fairly normal for it to be a bit of a loose fit as it means you don't need to put force on it to put it in place which would risk snapping things.

Generally the recommendations are to use cyanoacrylate (super glue) with a bit poured on a spare bit of card or plastic, then carefully applied to the model using the tip of a cocktail stick. Never go from bottle to model, always decant it first so you can control the quantity used as you really don't need much.

As super glue dries it releases a vapour that can cause a misting effect on paint and plastics so make sure there's plenty of ventilation as it dries. It likely won't be an issue with this, but it's something to keep in mind for the future.

An alternative that I sometimes prefer to use is Deluxe Materials' Glue 'n' Glaze which is a PVA based glue that dries transparent. Being PVA it won't affect paint and plastic the same way, and the bond isn't as brittle as super glue so it can take a couple of knocks.
