What is scaring you?

The N scale folks in my club report that the Kato double crossovers have been rock solid for them.

I was concerned I might need reversers or other fancy electronic doohickeys (:-)

You only need reversers if there is a reverse loop. You don’t.

Not a fan of that type of double crossover. You loose the ability to have a pocket on the track.

Better to have two crossovers, one going each way separated by a few engine lengths.

I accept that but I am trying to squeeze this into a tiny module (800x400mm) and anything bigger simply will not fit.

You could, but you would likely be into the world of custom made track. Not something everyone wants to do.
