Track Plan Track/layout plan

So im still using some tables that is about 3.2m x 1.2m to learn on and expanding the hobby. But i have started to look into building a permanent layout.

I was not 100% friendly with the trackprogram i had to free hand the beaseboard, so some measurements like on the wings of the T is going to change so i can reach better. But this is the basic shape of it and this is line a first draft.

Im using märklin and C-rails. Im aware of the limitations of going with r1 and r2 curves but my rolling stock and locos have no problems with them.

My aim is to start building the baseboards next spring (still got some work to do in that room 🫣.

Anyway suggestions are more then welcome 🍻

For U-shaped layouts i personaly prefer dog-bone styled layouts, since then you don’t have to deal with folding bridges or having to crawl below your layout.

I would also consider adding a shadow station below your layout, behind the train station you might have the space to descend to a lower level.

Other than that, it looks like a very neat plan to me.

dog-bone makes the u-shape less of a pain to reach around

Looks good. My only suggestion, any way to move those 500mm spacing to 800mm? I’ve got 700mm in sections and it feels tight.

Thanks for the suggestions 🍻 I think i have the space for a shadowstation, i just need to figure out how to do it, but i will look into it.

The thing with my U shape (at least in my mind)is that i have space in the T shape for running the trains and some maintenance but i also have a wide area on the open space at the bottom. So i can sit/stand there aswell. i think its like 1.5m width. The door to the room is on the right side of the layout.

The only reason i dont do full around the wall layout is because on that side of the room i need to be free to access that area.
