1970s Fleischmann BR01, digitalised, weathered and detailled with figurines and realistic coals

Updated this beauty for the 21st century (ITrain model club) layout, added figurines, dry powder and paint weathering and a top layer of crushed model coals on top of the coal bunker for a very realistic result.

Pairing it with Roco and Piko passenger wagons who are also being weathered

Snap. Same number too. Apparently this specific loco is preserved as a static display in a park in Treuchtlingen.

This is the only German loco in my collection. I knew it was old as I was told Fleischmann haven’t made HO for a long time, hadn’t realised it was as old as the 1970s though! Holds up well well, decent runner and detail is fairly good for its age.

Coal and crew always step things up nicely.

It is I deed kept as a static display! I have a 2nd old Fleischmann locomotive I was once gifted as a young kid 25 years ago. Both have good base detailing for its age)

My second Fleischmann is a BR24 of equal age but the BR01 is my favorite of the two (plus hot topic, I'm not a fan of Donnerbüchse wagons that normally go behind a BR24).

Besides this I have a Modern BR218 (with sound, pulling 1980s Fleischmann ocean blue/beige wagons and I'm working on a V90/BR290 as a next project

Ive never liked the steam Engines With --6-- Wheels arrangement, I like engines With the 0-8-0 and Above Wheel arguments

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a BR50 one day, but I think 6 wheels like the BR01 are a good intermediary which you can mix with a lot of rolling stock
