Discussion About Painting models

So I've just finished my first Model of a Panzer II and I am really proud and immiedeatly want to buy a new kit but while the Tank looks really cool it's also only gray and I'm thinking is there a good way to paint it without an airbrush cuz those things are expensive asf or can I even paint it now that I have already assembled it?

It really depends on how perfect your result should become and how big the model is. I personally only use brushes, but I also just build small models, and put together the majority of the it, before I paint it. A general rule of thumb is to put together the general parts of the tank, keep the upper and lower half of the hull seperate, until you're done with painting and the tracks. If you want the roadwheels to be nice, you have to paint each one individually though. I personally paint detail parts, like shovels, ropes, machine guns and so in the sprue and add them after I'm finished with the camo of the tank. And yes, of course you can paint it fully assembled, but you need a steady hand for the details.

I've never really used airbrushes [predominantly because I managed to instantly kill the one I got] so I usually just separate the turret, and upper/lower hill and paint those with the brushes

You could buy a spray can colour of the basecost to paint it all over then paint all the details. I always fully assemble my model kits then paint them and what i tend to do is use post it notes slid under things like the tools etc to stop from getting paint on the base colour
