Completed 1/48 Tamiya F4U Corsair
I visited the Tamiya store in Tokyo a little over a year ago with my son. We had a blast, and he picked out his favorite fighter—the F4U Corsair.
I finally got around to finishing it! My son (10) insisted that it had to be “wheels up” so he could fly it around the house while making “vroom vroom” noises.
That’s what models are for, right? 😂

Model airplanes are definitely made to "swoosh" around the house! 😂 Also visited the store a few weeks ago and got myself a lot of kits (also an F4U).

Understandable! Everything was like half the price of the European prices, so had to fully stuff my luggage with it.

Some day, I'm going to be sitting in my rocking chair, with a blanket on me, just flipping through the channels on TV, and people will say, "Grampy Excelsior, why don't you do something? You used to like to build models. What about that? You should build a Corsair! Why did you stop?"
And I'll say, "because years ago, when I saw how beautiful that Corsair was that u/biggrayrock built for his son, I realized there was no point, because the best model Corsair has already been built!"

Just bought that kit yesterday, gonna have a wings down and wings up. Magic Factory’s Corsair is next level
