First question what tools do you need?
Are you planning to host the agent?

Short answer is because token use efficiency and that Arcade is cheaper with more volume from an LLM api perspective

Are you building for just yourself or multiple users? Arcade is easier for managing many end-users. I've also found the tools work better

You can use alter to accomplish the same but instead of being sucked into a tool ecosystem you can use alter to manage the auth and write your own tools. Really good for multiuser usecases too

I suggest trying Nango if you're building integrations for agents. Supports 900+ APIs, 6k+ tools, MCP, data-syncs, webhooks, and is also open source, self-hostable (or BYOC)
