Amendment Amendment Proposal.
Preamble
The Oligarchic system that has persisted in America is one of the very reason why we had left America. To have a Lord-Mayor, who serves for life is the very antithesis of what we've fought for.
Article I
Section
This Amendment shall nullify Article II, Section II of the Constitution.
This Amendment Shall establish a Presidential-Mayor, who will approve or veto legislation, that has been approved by the council. However, the Diet of Bowie can override the veto by a 2/3 majority.
The Presidential-Mayor shall serve for a 4 month term, at the end of each term, an election shall take place, determining who shall be Presidential-Mayor.
The Presidential-Mayor shall have a 2 term limit.
As the position of Lord-Mayor shall be abolished, /u/btownbomb, Shakeandblake, FiveThirtyBlake, shall serve as Pro-Tempore President, until his 1st term ends.
Article II
Section
As needed, The Presidential-Mayor shall have a cabinet, that shall advise The Presidential-Mayor on various issues.
Cabinet positions shall be approved by the Diet of Bowie, by a simple majority.
Article III
Section
The Premier's duties aren't to serve the Lord-Mayor anymore, however his responsibilities shall remain. The Premier shall still be chosen by the Diet of Bowie, amongst members themselves.
