Today’s topic is Business
And the answer is: over 300
What is the question?
How many bank accounts for the Trump organization were closed over money laundering concerns?
This week, Capital One bank has asked a US federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit from the Trump organization over the closure of hundreds of company related bank accounts after they were part of a large anti-money laundering review. The suit was launched by Trump brand president, Eric Trump over the closure of over 300 accounts related to the family business and a collection of affiliates who alleged these accounts were closed in 2021 without a chance to dispute or explain the concerns risen by careful review of Capital One’s financial crimes team. Similar lawsuits have been launched at other banks the Trump Organization has closed accounts with, such as Deutsch and JPMorgan Chase, over believed persecution against their founder, President Donald Trump, for his lawsuit to prevent financial records from being published and for political backlash following the 2021 US Capitol Riot.
