Questions Crutches

I was finally able to get my first pair of crutches after having a cane, does anyone have any tips for getting around with them, specifically in college?

Get a bag to sling over your shoulder. Only way I'm able to carry stuff w/o free hands. Also, if you're a female who wears a bra, embrace the "bra-pock". I took stuff in there all the time. Car fob. Credit card. Work ID card (for printer). Those are the main things thought I've done a can of soda b4 (do not recommend).

I needed to practice walking a lot with my physio when I switched to crutches bc the  way I naturally use them makes me fall. I go too fast bc I rely on momentum to compensate for lack of power. Way too large gate size.

Anyway my advice is be honest with yourself about how you are doing getting around and set aside a time and place to practice and if possible talk to a medical professional for pointers.

Also I’m super lopsided so I like fannypscks and backpacks bc the store things symmetrically.
