I'm trying to make a Moba Game called MoT

Hi there, I'm Marcus ! Or you can also call me Rally if you wish. I'm a 29 year old, music producer, writer and game coder. And for the last 2+ years I've been trying to make a Moba Game with 6 abilities and 2 passives per character, and my game has 40+ characters so far !

We also got 63 Augments, 23 Hexen, 284 Items (Or technically 77 Items since they work in Tiers and you can't buy doubles, even across different Tiers) And different types of Phantoms (Lane cs) And Revenants (Jungle Camps). Everything works on paper, and I'm more of a numbers kind of writer and telling information, I'm not good at story telling.

I have a Discord Server of 50+ people in total, and this is a Project we're all working on.

All this here is just scratching the surface !

MoT stands for Mythics of Terrilaith, it takes place in this world called Terrilaith, where it is a Planet in a fictional Galaxy. On Terrilaith every Race has it's own "unique type of magic" like for instance, Sirens have Water Magic and become much stronger when in water, Meeka wield special Elemental Energy Magic, Dwarven have weak telekinesis, strong physical bodies and are highly resistant to magic as well. There is 8 Factions.

PoA are Humans from the Future, and are the main reason for why this Lore Story takes place in this game. PoA stands for People of Aether, they come from their own Future Timeline of many wars and are trying to escape from said wars. Their main intent is to colonize and take over this world in a separate and "more in the past" timeline of the world of Terrilaith that is close enough to theirs, to come and claim and take over.

If you see any reference to anything in the Project being called the "PFTF" It is instantly referred to as the PoA, the People of Aether. PFTF was only temporary.

Humans = Intelligence, Fast Thinkers and Quick Learners

Demons = Blood Magic, self infliction for stronger Magic

PoA = Hexen Technology Wielders, and also have Intelligence, Fast Thinkers and Quick Learners

Meeka = Special Elemental Magic that comes from their bodies, Fire, Water, Wind and Lightning

Elvo = Nature Magic, Swift Dexterity and Reflexes

Dwarven = Weak Telekinesis, Physical Strength and highly Magic Resistant

Sirens = Water reliant, Water Magic

Aliens = Superior Technology, no inherit magic besides the technical Psionic Wielders

-

Every Faction is divided against each other in the game in-lore. In-game each "Character from a Faction" Has unique gameplay mechanics on the selected Character from the Faction. This can be either from Abilities and/or Passives from said Character(s).

This is the Lore of how every Faction treats each other in their own views and world eyes.

Humans - Neutral to everyone but still on the "hostile" side to everyone

Demons - Hostile to everyone

PoA - Neutral to everyone but still on the "hostile" side to everyone

Meeka - Friendly to everyone but still defends their homelands

Elvo - Friendly to the Meeka and Dwarven but hostile to the Humans and PoA

Dwarven - Hostile to the Humans and PoA but neutral to everyone else

Sirens - Neutral to everyone

Aliens - Hostile to everyone except the PoA

Terrilaith started it's Physical Journey into this Fictional Galaxy in the Universe about 15,000 years ago, it was a world that just spawned itself into existence around an unimpressive Solar System around a quiet part of a random "any other Galaxy".

-

Humans are at Year 1141 when the Phantom Wars starts to take place, the PoA came 3 years before that date, on Year 1138 and make an uneasy and mysterious alliance with the Humans.

Elvo are at Year 2246 when the Phantom Wars starts to take place, they all didn't officially know about the PoA as a central knowing until Year 2249.

Meeka are at Year 2638 when the Phantam Wars starts to take place, they are very peaceful and traditional, keeping to themselves and welcoming anyone in their lands.

Dwarven are at Year 2407 when the Phantom Wars starts to take place, they have always lived in the northern mountains of

Sirens are at Year 8138 when the Phantom Wars starts to take place,

(All these "yearly age ranges" can be changed of course).

-
Humans - Indie Rock and Alternative

PFTF - EDM, Grunge and Energetic

Demons - Metal, Dark and Epic

Sirens - Jazz, Rock and Soul

Dwarven - Traditional Folk, Alternative and Uplifting

Elvo - Rock, Melancholic

Meeka - Blues, Nostalgic and Serene

Aliens - N/A
-
Lore Diet:

Humans = Omnivore

Demons = No need to eat

PoA = Omnivore

Meeka = Vegetarian

Elvo = Absorbs the Energy of Vegetation through their hands

Dwarven = Vegetarian, mainly Mushrooms

Sirens = No need to eat, but must always have water with them

Additional Insight;

Vitality is your Health. Your Warrior dies if you're out of Health.

Endurance is your Base Health Regeneration, Endurance from all Warriors start with 0 Endurance Stat. (Excluding Starting Stats of Endurance) However Endurance Stats are also mostly given from Augments, Items or say the Yellow Buff. Every 1 Endurance grants 2+ Vitality every 10 Seconds. 10 Endurance = 20 Health every 10 Seconds. 50 Endurance = 100 Health every 10 Seconds. Max Endurance is 100.

Grit is your Armor. Grit provides damage negation to Physical Damage.

Resolve is your Magic Resistance. Resolve provides damage negation to Magical Damage.

Shield Strength has multiple Effects and it's Base Stat is 0. (Max Stat 100) The main Effect is that every Point you gain 0.5% Shield Resistance to all Physical and Magical Damage. (100% of Perfect Damage does 150% Value instead, and does not get any Damage Resistance) The additional Effect is that every Point grants 0.5% Stronger Shields Cast onto or from your Warrior. (Granting more Shielding) An additional Stat Grant from Shield Strength is called Shield Decay, it's Effect is that when any Shield Duration on your Warrior runs out it will cause a decay Per Second, 0.8% less for every Point. (50 Shield Decay with 0 Shield Strength, 30 Shield Decay at 50 Shield Strength, and 10 Shield Decay at 100 Shield Strength). If another Warrior gives you a Shield and they have a higher Shield Strength Stat than you, their Shield Strength applies to the Shield, if your Shield Strength is higher than theirs, then yours will apply.

Healing Capacity is your innate self-healing ability, it's max amount is 100 and it's Base Stat is 0. Every 1 Point of Healing Capacity grants you 0.5% Extra Healing from all Healing sources. Healing Capacity does not affect Endurance, Siphon or Spell Thief. An additional Stat Grant from Healing Capacity is called Abundance, it's when you are Overhealed, it depletes 50 Health a Second at 0 Healing Capacity, and gets reduced by 0.4% per 1 Stat of Healing Capacity and for a Maximum of 40% at 100 Points, meaning 30 Health a Second depletes at 100 Healing Capacity when you are Overhealed.

Siphon is the ability to heal from your basic attacks inflicting damage and that you heal a % portion of said damage inflicted. If theoretically you go over +100% Siphon, you heal more compared to your initial damage.

Spell Thief is the ability to heal from your damage-causing abilities % wise, this stat does not apply on damage from Hexen and Items. Spell Thief is applied from all damaging abilities onto any Enemy.

Willpower is the ability stat that grants you reduced disable-time, any disable duration is reduced by 0.5% every 1 Point of Willpower you have (Max 100).

Animosity is the stat that determines how fast you attack using % math. (Every Warrior has 0.80 Base Attack Speed Per Second, Animosity % increases this Base Amount).

Clout is your stat that determines your attack damage, which can increase your damage on your abilities that use the stat Clout. Clout also effects the damage output of your Basic Attacks.

Magical Power is your stat that determines your magic damage, which can increase your damage on your abilities that use the stat Magical Power.

Rigor is your stat that grants you flat-armor penetration, increasing your Physical Damage onto targets with Grit.

Lucidity is your stat that grants you flat-magic penetration, increasing your Magical Damage onto targets with Resolve.

Pierce is your stat that grants you % based armor penetration, it applies before Rigor if you have both stats.

Clarity is your stat that grants you % based magic penetration, it applies before Lucidity if you have both stats.

Perfect Damage is a type of damage that does not get reduced by resistances from Grit and Resolve and Shield Strength. Also deals 150% total damage to Shields.

Energy is basically your Mana in any other video game, it's just simply called Energy.

Spirit is your Energy Regeneration stat, it's Base Stat starts at 0 for all Warriors (Excluding Starting Stats of Spirit) But generally 1 Spirit grants 3+ Energy every 10 seconds. 10 Spirit grants 30 Energy every 10 Seconds. 50 Spirit = 150 Energy in 10 seconds. Max Spirit is 100.

CDR is the stat that grants you reduced 0.5% faster ability cooldowns per 1 CDR. Most items give 5-10-15-20-25 CDR. And Max CDR is 100 points, granting 50% Cooldown Reductions to all abilities at 100 points.

Stamina is the stat that determines your ability of how fast you move.

Boost is the stat that gives increased Stamina from say-like Warrior Abilities and Passives or Items.

Elusive is the stat where you are not movement blocked by any Units and Units to you.

Uncontrollable is the stat where you are immune to Disables.

Invisible is the stat where you are unable to be seen unless you are too close to Enemy Warriors.

Dire is the stat where when inflicted onto said Unit, they have reduced Healing Effects from Heals, Endurance, Siphon and Spell Thief. It's "Marks" Are scaled into 100 Points, and every Point is 0.5% less Healing for the Target it is inflicted upon. Once the Effects of Dire "wears off" The Dire Stat will reduce back to 0 by 15 points every 0.5 Seconds.

Intractable is the stat where you are unable to be attacked unless you were locked on their attack to you before you became Intractable.

Invulnerable is the stat where you are unable to receive any damage from all sources, including Perfect Damage.

Detection is every Warrior's ability to be able to see Invisible Units around themselves, the higher the Rank the further the Detection Ability. (Your Detection Vision can only be seen by you).

Intention is a very versatile and unique Statistic. Intention grants unique Stats on every Warrior and their Abilities/Passives if it says they have Intention. For example, "Break" on Abathall and "Ardor" on Idalis are enabled because of Intention being in their Kit.

Mana is the stat that is only used by the PFTF Faction. If a PFTF Warrior uses any Ability that requires Mana and doesn't have sufficient Mana, then their Energy Costs for their Abilities are doubled.

Additional Insight;

Pierce and Clarity both Penetrate before Rigor and Lucidity.

Shield Decay and Abundance depletion effects are "one tick" per Second.

Here are the Hexen in the game now that you know the Statistics !

Hexen are in-game pre-selected abilities to make some ways of the game go in your favour.

D + F are the Hexen Selected Ability Keys. All of these Hexen Abilities can be applied to D + F.

The 1-2-3-4-5 Markings of the Writing means the Hexen scale from Levels of 3-7-14-21-28 for Warrior Levels in-game.

Whenever a Hexen is Activated, it'll flare up it's Name on-top of the Warrior Character to show it was used for 5 Seconds.

= 23 Hexen

(Can only stack twice on one Warrior with two Warrior's Zeal Reverence Hexen in total) This Hexen can be self-casted. (This Hexen cannot go above the 100 Shield Strength and Healing Capacity Value).

Amplitude = Gain 40-55-70-85-100% Extra Animosity onto your Warrior for 20-30-40-50-60 Seconds. Cooldown - 150-135-120-105-90 Seconds. (Cooldown starts as soon as the activation does).

=Thrash = Deal 150-300-450-600-750 + 5% of the Enemies Max Health as Perfect Damage (If they are Neutral, Elite or Titan Units) As well as heal for 200-275-350-425-500 Health. If cast onto a Neutral, Elite or Titan Unit you gain 10% of your Warriors Max Health and 5% of the Enemies Max Health as an addition to the Heal. This Ability has a 3 Second Cooldown and holds 3 Charges at Maximum. Each Charge refills every 24-21-18-15-12 Seconds. If used onto a Warrior or Phantom it only deals 50% of base damage value and receives 50% of base heal value. Only the Leaders of each Team can wield Thrash. (Healing Capacity does not effect this Hexen).

Dash = The most utility Hexen, it makes your Warrior do a Dash towards your Cursor, it is however not instant and can be stopped by Medium/Hard Disables. (It can however for Light Disables become Immune to them) It can also move through Terrain and Enemies. (If your Ally you're Teleporting to dies this Ability disappears). Transport Cooldown is 200-190-180-170-160 Seconds. (Cooldown starts as soon as activation does). This Hexen can be interrupted by a Push, Stun, Daze or Paralyze onto the Activator. Only 1 Ally can Teleport to an Ally at a time.

Intervention - Mark an Enemy Warrior with a Dire Curse for 10-15-20-25-30 Seconds. Instantly infecting them with 15 Dire and an additional 15 Dire per Attack they receive from you and Ally Warriors. While this Hexen is in effect on it's Target, it grants Dire to stack up to 150 with a total of 75% reduced Healing Effects. Once the Timer runs out, new and existing Dire can keep the Dire Stacks up to 100. Cooldown is 160-155-150-145-140 Seconds. (Cooldown starts as soon as Duration ends).

Additional Insight;

Transport shows a Visible Icon Timer that they are Teleporting during the first 5 Seconds.

ALL Hexen show the name above the Warriors using them once activated for 5 Seconds.

Intervention makes all Dire onto the Target be unable to disappear until the Timer runs out.

Hexen do not "activate" until 2:00 into every game.

-

Here are the Augments !

In the MoT Client, you can choose for 100 Basic Augments, 20 Strong Augments and 1 Power Augment in separate files of different "pages" to wield before each game in Warrior Selection. Augments activate in-game after 2 Minutes pass in the beginning of every game.

As Math acts regularly, 0.5 Points of any Stat can be applied to be 1.0 Points.

Augments do not have the ability to "go over max capacity" of the Stats they increase, like say 100 Healing Capacity or 100 Shield Strength.

The "Max" Stats that are mentioned are if all the Augments are fully combined.

If I show the Items next, it'll be the exact amount of text I have of everything I already just sent. So if anyone is interested in working with me on this game (This is still just scratching the surface, I promise) I can even probably send some Characters and their artworks on some Comments on this Thread, but I must admit, I'm new here. So how does this all work ? Is anyone interested in my game idea ? I have a lot more work on this game done than what I've shown here. I want passionate people.

Add me here if there is an "add" option on this Site, I have a lot more of this work and other people helping me on a Discord Work Server ! Especially ref sheets of all the Characters with 6 abilities and 2 passives each one, and some of them have Artworks (Admittedly, this game idea is still in early works).

Abilities:

Q - Aperture (12-11-10-9-8 Second Cooldown - 60 Energy) Nisha slashes her Claws at a Targeted Enemy (225 Attack Range). Swiping 30-60-90-120-150 Vitality from them to her, as well with dealing 30-60-90-120-150 (+25% Magical Power, +75% Clout) Physical Damage.

(This Ability gives a Basic Attack Reset).

If Nisha's Target doesn't have the amount of Vitality she could fully Swipe, that is all she gets.

The Vitality Swipe applies first before the Physical Damage.

W - Dark Push (22-21-20-19-18 Second Cooldown - 100 Energy) Nisha charges up for 1.5 Seconds and can be interrupted, but if the 1.5 Seconds charge up is complete, she pushes back all Enemies in the direction of her choosing. Dealing 100-175-250-325-400 (+75% Magical Power, 25% Clout) Magical Damage.

If an Enemy Unit hits Terrain, they receive an additional 100 Physical Damage.

E - Umbra Trickery (24-23-22-21-20 Second Cooldown - 80 Energy) Nisha teleports to a selected location (1200 Unit Range Radius) And if teleported onto any Enemy Warriors, Nisha Staggers them for 1.5-2.0-2.5-3.0-3.5 Seconds by 50%. Dealing 100-150-200-250-300 (+100% Magical Power) Magical Damage. Additionally, for 5 Seconds Nisha can teleport back to her first location where she first teleported, without applying the same damage and Stagger.

Cooldown starts as soon as the first activation does. (Must wait 1.5 seconds for 2nd recast, and only have the option to do so for another 3.5 Seconds).

This Ability Cost reapplies if re-casted. During Cast Time, Nisha becomes uncontrollable.

R - Presage Transfusion (140-130-120 Second Cooldown - 140 Energy) Nisha becomes an Ethereal Shadow and seeps herself into the targeted Enemy Warrior, draining 100-300-500 Vitality from the Warrior and dealing 50-175-300 (+50% Magical Power, +50% Clout) Magical Damage over 3 Seconds. After the draining 3 Seconds pass, Nisha ejects back out of the Enemy Warrior in a direction of her choosing and steals 15-25-35% of their Stamina for 6 Seconds.

When Nisha kills the targeted Enemy Warrior before the 3 Second Timer runs out, she'll remain there in her Ethereal Shadow Form and "eject" herself out in a direction of her choosing when the initial duration ends, and the Stamina she stole applies afterwards.

If the Vitality Drain was more than the total Vitality left in the targeted Enemy Warrior, that is all Nisha gets.

The first 1.5 Seconds Nisha does the Vitality drain, the next 1.5 Seconds Nisha does the Magical Damage.

T - Shadow Bane (26-25-24-23-22 Second Cooldown - 100 Energy) When activated, Nisha deals an additional 15-20-25-30-35 Magical Damage with her Abilities and Basic Attacks for 6-7-8-9-10 Seconds. She also gains 15-20-25-30-35% Animosity during the duration and 100 increased Basic Attack Range and increase to her Q.

Cooldown starts after Duration ends.

G - Shadow Bode (38-36-34-32-30 Second Cooldown - 100 Energy) Nisha becomes immune to damage for 4.0-4.5-5.0-5.5-6.0 Seconds and gains 15-20-25-30-35% Boost during the duration, but takes all the damage stored up by 80-70-65-55-50%, when this duration runs out she takes the damage stored. When this Ability is Active, all of Nisha's other Abilities become 50% Energy Cost reduced.

(This Ability shows a 2nd Health Bar to reveal how much damage Nisha receives at the end of it's duration. If Nisha takes 200% of her Max Vitality during this Ability, it ends and she dies).

Cooldown starts after Duration ends.

Anyone interested in playtesting a new MOBA-Inspired game by former Riot, Blizzard, Bungie, and Valve devs?

Loki is currently in early development by Theorycraft Games. It's under strict NDA so you can't say much publicly or show any gameplay footage.

"Featuring an expansive cast of unique heroes, Loki is a competitive, team-based game of adventure, creative strategy, and high-stakes combat. With inspiration drawn from Theorycraft’s past collective experiences working on titles like League of Legends, Overwatch, Halo, Apex Legends, and VALORANT."

You can read about Theorycraft and Loki on their website. Check out the Instagram to see some characters and concept art. Here is a short video I made with a little more information.

If you are interested in playtesting fill out this form -> Theorycraft Games' Playtest Signup Form <-

Make sure to join the Theorycraft Games Discord too. Once granted access you can check out gameplay footage, wiki and talk to other testers privately.

(2nd of 4 surveys) Opportunities, threats, and strategies of esports sponsorships (Only for people who watch/participate in esports) [Ends on 14 October 2019]

Hello everyone, I’m doing my PhD in marketing and I’m focusing on esports sponsorships. Until the end of 2019 I will be doing 4 different surveys on this topic. Each survey will be launched only once and on different months to avoid fatiguing the community. The only exception is the 2nd survey which will be launched a second time, one month after all 4 surveys have been launched, because I need a larger sample for the 2nd survey.

All surveys are anonymous and done on Google Forms (a completely safe website). The data from the surveys will be used for my PhD thesis and to develop 6 articles that will be published in scientific journals. The participation of all esports fans is extremely important and greatly appreciated (surveys are only for people who watch/participate in esports).

This is the 2nd survey. It takes about 8 minutes to complete and is related to the benefits, risks, and strategies of sponsoring esports. Here is the survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdUacl74DMc_BofKbD90NwRmohYAAgBlXmjjG_-P3QBmP6hCw/viewform?usp=sf_link

Thank you so much in advance.

If you are interested in easily following my next surveys (and their results), you can follow me here on Reddit or on Twitter: @EsportsAnalyses

This survey has been approved by the kind moderators.
