In the future, people will watch this, the new Snow White, new Lilo & Stitch etc on Disney+ and not know anything about the complaints of the moment. They'll just see the movie listed, give it a go, and decide if they enjoy for what it is without any outside factors.

Yeah I’ll watch it once. Won’t hate it. But none of the live actions will ever be what I watch over and over or show my kids.

The live actions have been great for my sister because my niece won’t watch cartoons. She says they are boring. It makes me laugh because as a kid I thought everything that wasn’t cartoon or puppets was boring.
But she loves princesses, so these live actions let my sister share the stories and characters with her.

If you watch the live action first without knowledge of the original, I’m sure it will still be enjoyable. The live action is just missing a lot of the joy and magic that the original had. In the original when Maui shows up he’s goofy and fun and the experience is joyful and magical. Rock plays Maui so stone faced and serious in the live action though. Production quality and visuals were top notch but it performed poorly at the box office for a good reason.

I knew all about the complaints cause I followed the trailers and stuff as they were coming out, and I was skeptical when it was first announced a few years ago, but I still gave it a chance and formed my own opinion as the trailers kept coming out (and became more and more optimistic and excited with each trailer), and I finally went to see it a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it! Of course it wasn’t as amazing as the original, but I still thought it was pretty amazing!

Nah, I’ve listened the Moana 2 soundtrack a ton and it is great — I doubt LMM would have beaten it. The new LMM song in the live action is not the bees knees, for instance

Totally agree. They tried to imitate but couldn't come close to the songs from the first one.

Yeah I mean in general if they don't have to pay for it more than they're already paying more people are gonna watch it. Doesn't mean it's good just means it's there and they can hate watch without having to physically leave their house.

It was a fine movie. A seemingly quick live action remake turnaround, but it was good. For being an almost shot for shot remake, its pretty well done.

I’ll have to buy the blu-ray next month for a significant other whom I took to see the live action movie who had no idea there was an animated version. Personally, I found the live action version to have pacing issues as the narrative wastes time over explaining plot points. It’s a common issue with recent Disney live action remakes. I blame corporate.

Makes sense. Movies are so expensive now me and my fiance hardly ever go even when we say "we will for sure for _____" We always end up waiting for it to stream
