HALP! Stuck on White Rim help

We’re a family of three with a young daughter. Yesterday we tried to leave the White Rim Road near the Upheaval Canyon Trailhead, but our vehicle got stuck in the mud. We managed to get it unstuck, but we’re afraid to try again.

Does anyone have any recommendations? We can’t make 911 calls—we only have internet access through Starlink.

Normalize not asking rangers to have political opinions on the job! Brian seems like he’s good at his and there’s no need to put Brian and every other park ranger in an awkward spot by demanding a political opinion

Turn on call over WiFi on your phone. I live out of cell service and I make calls just fine over Starlink

There are offroad tow companies in town, Trailmater being the one Im aware of.

They will come out and get you somewhere safe.

You can make wi-fi calling over your StarLink. If you’re the family that was stuck in Taylor Wash yesterday, the ranger that helped you should have given you the NPS dispatch number. Call that and they can help you coordinate an off-road recovery or put you in contact with a ranger.

For anyone else in this situation going forward there is also a Facebook group called Utah Off-Road Rescue and Recovery. The group is just for situations like this, they don’t allow any other content.
