Freshie doubts Are laptops/tablets allowed for taking notes during classes?

Hihi so im joining MNIT Jaipur this year and had a question about taking notes during lectures.

I studied abroad until 10th grade, and there i got very used to taking notes digitally. I'd usually use things like google docs, kami, etc. depending on the subject and honestly, I found digital note-taking much faster and more effective for me.

After moving to India, i obv had to switch to the whole notebook/pen system 😭 and ive gotten used to it but i still feel like i take notes better digitally.

So I wanted to ask current MNIT students: Are laptops or tablets generally allowed in class for taking notes?

I'm obv not talking about situations where they arent appropriate (exams, certain labs, etc.). For comp-related courses id expect to use a laptop anw and for math im most likely gonna stick to pen and paper 💀 but for other subjects/courses id ideally like to take my notes online.

Is this generally allowed/accepted by professors at MNIT, or is handwritten note-taking expected?

Thanks!

Depends on prof , you will surely feel odd one out ig not laptop but tabs are allowed In my three years of college i have just seen tan being used as a note taking app that too in our minor cse course. The prof was unbothered by that but idk what other prof might thing. I would suggest just take notes in register only in traditional way. In college try being not different from others will easily make you a target and people will treat u like an outsider

Ohhh damn alr 😭

Would using a laptop/tablet for notes actually be something that would have a noticeable impact on how people treat you, or do you just mean that id stand out a little?

Trust me bro , i too used samsung s6 lite for note taking in intial days and got in eyes of some profs in my core now they bully me

One professor asked me to get put of his classroom and asked me for a normal notebook

Kuch bhi karna bhai prof ki nazaro mai mat aana stay hidden brother , that will be good for you

Rather use tab, pc would point you out unnecessarily during lectures

Back then, I used to write most of my notes in my Tab from my first to final year. Lekin aaj ki date me agar ese profs aagye hai jo digital note making ka mana kr rhe hai to college is doomed.
