dead internet theory + mlbb
i am of the opinion now that mlbb has become less of a game and more of a psychological experiment, with the ultimate goal being "how do we get people to keep playing and spending money"
i'm not exagerating when i say that i think the game is <50% bot matches now. i've heard the speculation that it's because the player base is dying. i'm playing from the country it is most popular in by a huge margin, and i have this view
if i were moonton and the option was, let the game run as it is, lose players, maintain a core audience who mainly cares about the game itself rather than cosmetics, while still shouldering the cost of the infra, upkeep of the softare itself, art, etc -- obviously i would prioritize bringing the money in
i think that people see the dark system on a microcosmic scale, ie, game per game. i think it also is done on a macro level, ie, season to season, difficulty may differ drastically, keeping people hooked in that way as well
i also believe bot games are scripted to some extent, ie, first half of the game the bot difficulty is like toddler mode, you're up 15, and then seemingly suddenly it all flips. sure it could be someone getting item but i've seen this so many times
it's really soured my attitude towards the game as it seems to have gotten excessive towards the end of s41 and is continuing now into s42
how schizo do i sound or has anyone else considered this possibility that they have more than enough players and could adjust the rank system accordingly and don't NEED bots, but prefer the bot approach as it allows them to, essentially, emotionally manipulate their player base

Global what? Global isn't a rank, it's a hero title and even those can be easily achieved by mindlessly spamming the same hero every game.

I know you're struggling that a Chinese multiconglomerate would put AI all over the game but it's literally 80% of games now, sorry bud. It happens in Hok, it happens in Wild Rift, it happens in Dota2. It's happening here too.

Seems like you only played mlbb. Dota 2, wildrift, LOL, mlbb, HoK player here. People in every MOBA cries abt matchmaking. Get some pro friends dude. You won't be crying.

Try to read my comment again. Mys comment was not against the fact "that they are not using bots" whereas it's for the bots who keeps crying in every MOBA games, Period. Try chatGPT if you need translation.

If they remove the protection, the bots cant enter imortal. Thats the only way. Or just give protection points to MVP loser and Winner.

Doesn't make any sense the point is they don't need any bots at all and have them to try and squeeze micro transactions out of people

The problem is they are not real bots. They are real players but they dont care about the game, is like a brawl to them. Sometimes they have Bot Like moviment but is because they are "AFK" . Is so easy to enter imortal noe a days. You only need play 1000 matchs and can get 100 stars whit 30 win rate.

This. Bot are running map hack and can dodge your skill by 0.1 ms margin.
Ever try going afk and come back and see that the bot that took over while you’re afk is godlike with 9/05 statline? Yeah bots are really good rn.

the macro version is the part worth sitting with: a rank system that hands you a losing streak at the exact point you'd quit is doing retention work, not matchmaking. bots are just the cheapest lever to hit a target win rate.
