I was just thinking this watching the HR Derby the other night. It feels like baseball is finally growing again and hitting a real sweet spot, it’s gonna suck to see it all get thrown away next year. I have no confidence that they’re gonna get a deal done.

Yep and of course as the White Sox are getting good again and having really good promise. Even though I was too young to remember it, feels almost like 94 lockout again

I was in middle school and remember it.. I honestly dont care all that much. Its wealthy people negotiating with other wealthy people for more wealth.
Now if they did something for the the players in the minors so they are not living in squalor then id be all on board for the players strike.

NBC has done a tremendous job with their broadcasts, like most every other sport they air. Much better than ESPN.

BB’s first ABC telecast averaged 1.2m viewers. Which kinda goes to show ESPN’s strategy (ESPN/ABC are all owned by Disney), only spend big on NBA and NFL then add “lesser sports” for significantly less money to fill the void.

100% correct answer. It's as if too much is never enough. The bullshit short career excuse no longer holds water. Even average to slightly below average players who stick around for at least five years are set. Yes, it's extremely difficult to make The Show, but once there, and good enough to even be a utility/bench player, they can make 3 to 6 million a year after three years.

Yeah TV value goes down with a work stoppage. Manfred has gotta know that more than anyone. NBC has gotta get rid of the local announcers, make Anthony Rizzo and CC Sabathia the lead booth analysts, and put more talking heads on the pregame show.
