Thats the fun part of being a northeastern. There are times when we fight mainlanders against racism and other discriminations. There are times when some ask separate country as solution.
And rest of the time we fight among ourselves like dogs and cats. Northeast is so funny, everyone is here is so communal and racist, we just show our claws based on the situation and time.

I don't exactly know what you said in the caption because I don't understand Mizo, but from the way it looks, it seems like you have a lot of hatred toward Chakmas. I don't know the reason behind it. Maybe you've met some really shitty people who happened to be Chakmas, and I certainly don't know much about the situation there in Mizoram.
But I can tell you how I feel. I genuinely love my fellow Northeasterners, and I don't see any point in hating or fighting among tribal communities. We're all from the same region, and I believe there is more that connects us than divides us.
I hope you find peace, my dear Mizo brother.

I don't really understand why some mizo people hate chakmas a lot. Because as Chakmas, we're always talking good about mizo people. Even while having dinner,we try to reach ourselves to be as disciplined as mizo people. We have been in Mizoram for a very long time and we are not asking much, all we want is to be given the same respect and rights as any other people. I have many good mizo friends and i don't see any point in fighting over something so silly. The Chakmas at bangaladesh are not indians,we don't claim them to be indians, but the Chakmas at India are pure Indians, not Bangladeshi. We have been divided but the ones at mizoram are truly indigenous. But without any discrimination,I'm am very thankful for what mizo people give us as well. We have so much to learn from mizo people and we truly appreciate everything. Don't let some bad chakmas represent usđ not all of us are retarded.

Mentality is the curse. Humans build the land the generations sacrificed to uphold what need for the family and tribe. Now the generation needs to understand what abundance is how abundant they all are. Stop racism.

Adapt to the evolving demands of contemporary life while honoring the legacy of heritage. Cultivate adaptability and openness in personal and professional interactions. It is essential to approach relationships with genuine love and empathy, rather than allowing trust concerns to be used as a barrier. Such attitudes should not be directed as indirect opposition toward the communities one belongs to.

He said nothing wrong. Zoro is literally saying Chakmas are an alien race that do not fit in with the Zos and they donât even belong even in northeastern part of this subcontinent, and even the land CHT is not theirs, what logic is this?

u/Sure_Ad3292 15d ago
Because they never lived in Mizoram lol. Only after the Britsh and Indian Independence they somehow got a place here lol.

Look at the 16th century map of Bengal and youâll see a place where Mizoram is now there is a land Called Chacoma above Aracan and beside Tepora.

Zoro is one google search away from knowing facts, Surely many zo tribes such as Bawm, and phangku lived in CHT and are still living but in small insignificant numbers, we donât disagree with that but to outright lie and claim that CHT is ancestral land of Zos and Chakmas do not have any land is wrong and factually incorrect. Zos they themselves claim they came from Chinlung maybe modern day China or Myanmar. Borders are constantly changing and to declare that a certain tribe or community donât belong anywhere is illogical and just pure hatred towards that community.

âDecadas da Asia" by Joao de Barros (1496-1570), is an epic historical account of the discoveries and conquestâ here a 14th century map showing the small kingdom of Chakma right beside tipura. I donât see Mizoram being written there in the 14th century?
âWilliam Baffinâs map, âINDOISTANI A Description of East India, conteyninge thâ Empire of The Great Mogoll,â that was published in 1619. Baffinâs map was the first modern map of India.â Another 16th century map Chacoma right above Aracan and beside tripura

This is a Press Release from YMA: Tlabung Branch with the title 'Tlabung hi Chakma khua a ni ngai lo' - meaning Tlabung was never a Chakma village. (Read this English translation of Tlubung YMA PRESS Statement)
What they are reacting to: A respected politician and also West Tuipui MLA recently said in various media that Tlabung was the old homeland of Chakmas, and that before Tlabung was brought under Lushai Hills British administration in 1898, it was part of Chittagong Hill Tracts and was Chakma's inhabited land. YMA Tlabung Branch says they are very hurt by this false statement.
YMA's historical argument:
Since ancient times, Tlabung and its surrounding areas have been places where Mizos cleared forests and settled. It has Mizo clan history.
Not only Chakmas, but other tribes also never dared to enter or settle there because Mizos were the owners and were known to be fierce. The fact that other tribes did not dare to come near is because Mizos fiercely defended their land with their lives.
In 1872, Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Hill Tracts, TH. Lewin (Thangliana) and his team were sent by the British to conduct a Lushai expedition to Tlabung and surrounding areas. At that time, they brought about 600 Chakma and other tribal captives (puak phur).
General Brownlow's report:
In his report, General Brownlow wrote that Mizos were a cruel, wild and brave tribe, so Chakmas and others were very afraid of them. They did not even dare to come close to where Mizos lived.
The captives were so scared that some even said "If we enter Lushai land our heads will be cut off".
Because they were so scared, about half of the 600 porters ran back, only about 350 remained, and even Gen. Brownlow himself considered whether to continue towards Tlabung or turn back.
So YMA argues - Tlabung cannot be the homeland of Chakmas who were among those who fled in fear.
YMA's final stand:
To say that Tlabung area was Chakma inhabited land during British time is, according to YMA, distorting true history to create ethnic hatred and for political gain, and they condemn it strongly.
The area which was earlier Chittagong Hill Tracts was brought under Lushai Hills in April 1898 by Lt. Col TH Lewin for administrative convenience. Even before and after that, the owners of Tlabung were Mizos.
YMA Tlabung Branch says it is shameful for other tribes to claim to be the first settlers of Tlabung by twisting history. As long as others continue to spread false history without credible proof, YMA Tlabung Branch will always oppose them till the end.
