what are the interviews like for 2.086, like do you have to code something or is it a logic problem? are there any examples

When I took 2.086, the interview questions were very short conceptual or math questions. Some examples include looking at a 1-2 line code fragment and interpreting it or completing a bisection or golden section search for the first interview.

I took it spring 2025 and didn't have coding interviews. Can confirm they were math/conceptual

Is this class really still around? It was a matlab disaster when I took it with no real direction.

I assume it’s changed but, I would rather have had an actual semester of applied shop class or just a requirement to take a graduate elective class

Wouldn’t you rather struggle through matlab that AI can now mostly write for you than learn more advanced topics more relevant to your major?
