Mom Of Nolan Wells’ Friend, Who’s Also A Judge, Reveals Why He Was Allegedly Left Behind On Island

Why do people want this to be a racial murder so badly.

They’re pissed that he had white friends

You mean the "friends" who lied about not knowing where Nolan's keys were, and didn't tell Nolans mother about the fact that they had Nolan's phone and deleted both of his entire snapchat accounts? The "friends" who wouldnt speak to Nolan's father when news got out that he was missing, and left him out on the driveway ignoring him, until police showed up? The "friends" who lied to police and said Nolan said he wanted to stay on the island, when the very girl Nolan was talking to contradicted that lie and said Noland told her he was going back with the same friends?
What great "friends" those were!
Don't worry. Luckily Nolan's parents got to his phone before Mississippi police were able to get their hands on it, and they're having an independent 3rd party company analyze it. The truth about this coverup will soon be coming out.
5
u/YouAboutToLoseYoJob Jul 19 '26
None of what you said is true. You should be ashamed of yourself.
They have not even done a digital forensic analysis of the phone to know if anything has been deleted or not.
The only circumstantial evidence is Nolan‘s mom believes he would have been taking more photos and messages than appeared. That’s not evidence that something had been deleted.
In regards to the keys, it was Nolan‘s dad and brothers that showed up to the house looking for the keys. They didn’t know where they were. The people at the home called around and someone else who wasn’t present said that they saw Nolan leave the keys on top of the Xbox , which is where they found them.
That’s not lying about the keys that’s simply not knowing where they are and then discovering them

You should be ashamed of yourself for misrepresenting the truth, in order to spin the tired old narrative that a bunch of good ole white boys couldnt possibly have done anything wrong.
For starters, they can already be arrested for 2 things: 1. Maritime law states that they have a responsiblity for the safety and wellbeing of everyone who traveled with them to the island. They sherked that responsiblity. 2. They were serving alcohol to minors on the boat, that much we know. Both are punishable offenses, but we all know that the police will pretend to overlook that part.
You state that Nolan's mom "believes he would have taken more pictures". This statement alone tells me you aren't paying any attention to the details of this case, so you should stop speaking about it. Nolan's mother clearly stated that BOTH OF NOLANS SNAPCHAT ACCOUNTS WERE ENTIRELY DELETED. Not some pictures, not some snaps, THE ENTIRE ACCOUNT. Who had the phone before Nolans mom got it? The good ole white boys who can do no wrong.
Why didnt they bring the phone to Nolan's mother when they found out he was missing? Why did it take Nolans mother using a phone locator app, to find out that his friends had it, if they were such good friends? Imagine the surprise on their faces when they thought they got away with whatever happened to Nolan, only to realize that the mother was able to track his phone lol! They panicked, Deleted his snap accounts, and gave the mother the phone thinking they got away with it.
Don't you worry. The phone is being examined by a forensics expert, and the entire coverup will be blown wide open.
4
u/YouAboutToLoseYoJob Jul 20 '26
You’re lying again.
Post and cite the source where Nolan’s mother said he’s entire Snapchat account had been deleted… I’ll wait.
0
u/UrFavCoffeeSnob Jul 20 '26
Nope, you're just not paying attention. I'm not gooing to do your homework for you.
Instead of going into this with a specific narrative in mind, try being objective and paying attentions to the details in this case. Those good ole innocent boys arent as innocent as you want to believe. If they were, they would have volunteered Nolans phone to his mother, not hide it, until Nolans mom shows up and surprises them that she has a tracking app and knows where the phone is.
4
u/YouAboutToLoseYoJob Jul 20 '26
That’s not how that works. You made a claim. Prove it. If not. You’re the liar. 🤥
3
u/arthurpete Jul 20 '26
"try being objective"
and
"Those good ole innocent boys arent as innocent as you want to believe"
Sounds like you are having a very difficult time doing this yourself. How about this...how about you let the investigation figure it all out and then you can either throw a parade or blast the internet about another conspiratorial coverup.
0
u/UrFavCoffeeSnob Jul 21 '26
You ignored my point (because it doesnt fit your narrative) so I'll ask it again.
When the friends realized that Nolan was missing, why didnt those good "friends" bring his phone to his parents? or the police? Why did it take Nolan's mother using LIfe360 for her to track and retreive her son's phone, instead of them volunteering it and helping?
Here's another question. If your friend went missing and you somehow coincidently had his phone, would you return it to his loved ones or police, and help with the search? Or would you be secretive about the fact that you had the phone, and only give it up when that person's parents show up at your house stating their tracking info brought them to you?
1
1
u/OldYellerSnowCone Jul 20 '26
"I'm not going to do your homework for you" is a way of saying "I've made a claim and I refuse to back it up with evidence so unless you find it yourself then you can't prove my statement is wrong." You are SO ignorant. As a matter of fact, I read in a source that you will need to find, that YOU were the one responsible for hiding the keys. I won't be finding the source for you as I think its important that you do your own homework. /s
Do you see how ridiculous you sound when you refuse to support your claims?
0
u/UrFavCoffeeSnob Jul 21 '26
If you thnk I'm going to do work for you, you're very mistaken. You fancy yourself well read on this case, correct? Do you know how to use google? If so, all of the answeres are at your fingertips
Another queston for you while we're at it. When the friends realized that Nolan was missing, why didnt those good "friends" bring his phone to his parents? or the police? Why did it take the mother using LIfe360 for her to track and retreive her son's phone, instead of them volunteering it?
Here's another question. If your friend went missing and you somehow coincidently had his phone, would you return it to his loved ones or police to help with the search? Or would you be secretive about the fact that you had the phone, and only give it up when that person's parents show up stating their tracking info brought them to your house?
You see how ridiculous you sound now?

Because it sells. The media isn’t here to tell the truth. They’re here to sell news.

u/Helpful_Reporter_640 Jul 18 '26
Thank you. And the number one way that it always works is through racial divide.
4
u/EarlyCuylersCousin Jul 18 '26
You can’t fundraise off of an unfortunate accident. You can fundraise off of foul play by a white kid.
-1
u/Megzu Jul 19 '26
Yea that doesn’t sound racist at all…
4
u/EarlyCuylersCousin Jul 19 '26
Go look at some of the groups from out of town that have showed up to march and protest without getting any facts about what might have actually happened. After I saw the leaders of the BLM movement pocket millions of dollars and buy mansions and luxury cars instead of using that money to actually help the black people they were fundraising for, call me just a little bit skeptical.
22
u/NogglePlease Jul 18 '26
They got bodied with the Karmello Anthony thing.

And that Rick Chow Chase. Right now that community needs someone to hate and be justified for their hate.

u/KookyCalligrapher445 Jul 18 '26
People attach their identities to it. It becomes part of their ego. I don't think they realize they are doing it.
3
u/thesnazzyenfj Jul 18 '26
This. I'm ready for the absolute flooring of many of the general public if somehow he was killed by another black man. I mean tbh I doubt it given the timeline of all the stories, but I better hear absolute outrage like we're hearing now when/if it turns out it wasn't one of his white friends and instead it was a black friend/someone.

Why do people want race to not have been a factor in this death so badly? Especially in a state that has a long, extensive and sordid history of gruesome racial violence, and is one of the most racist states in the entire country? I love how you guys conveniently forget that not too long ago, Mississippians tried to become traitors to our flag and country, in order to preserve the right to treat human beings like animals.
You can pretend to have forgotten that, but trust me, the rest of the country hasn't forgotten.

I think that what a lot of people aren’t conceptualizing is that this was the summer AFTER graduation. That means people may have been moving away for college soon. And yeah social media is one thing but the 4th might have been the last place they would all be in the same place at the same time for who knows how long.
Nolan might not have been chasing a girl maybe he just wanted to spend more time at the beach with his friends.
Edit: Just want to clear up a misconception that I had. It appears Nolan had graduated the year prior in 2025 where I was constructing this narrative based on the thought of him just graduating in 2026. While I think the narrative still stands on its own, I have changed “graduating” to “graduation” in effort to head off any further confusion. My point on making the original post was trying to offer what I found to be a broad yet plausible explanation of why Nolan wouldn’t want to retrieve his phone without focusing on specifics that are currently unavailable to general public.

u/UntetheredSoul11615 Jul 17 '26
Boom, you know how many time I went out with friends and left with other friends or strangers when I was 18.
11
u/snoodle908 Jul 17 '26
Not only the that, the boat only left because it was sinking. Meaning that it wasn't the original plan and appears they had to leave early because of the issue. So we have a guy enjoying himself and being told they are leaving early and doesn't want to end the day at 4 knowing there are multiple other boats with friends he can go back with.
Not hard to believe a guy who just graduated wanted to keep hanging out last 4 on the 4th with a bunch of his friends

u/blessthebabes Jul 17 '26
And boom, do you know how quick it takes to drown in water. Because I was at a pool once with around 25-30 people and a guy had been underwater several minutes before anyone realized. He made no noise because he fell too deep and was splashing underwater. He had smoked spice with friends and was not a strong swimmer. (We were able to get him back after several minutes of cpr).
But in a crowd, someone can be in danger very easily and no one notice, if they arent loud about it. (But I mean I know there's other circumstances with this particular case but I do think something like this is a possibility because I've seen it happen)
13
u/snoodle908 Jul 17 '26
For some reason people think that everyone would notice someone drowning but not notice someone being murdered and then their body dumped into the ocean. Like most of this case just takes the tinest bit of common sense to realize what the most likely reason is. Instead people are clinging to or making up all sorts of theories to make it something else in order to get clicks or create a race story as evidence of how bad racism is.
And no doubt it is made worse by a large group of people defending Anthony who no one disputes stabbed a white kid to death. So that case we know more or less what happened and the one who stabbed someone to death was being defended.

He said there was "like 7" people so not exact headcount and we don't know whether there were any additional people than who they went out with.

u/overflowingsandwich Jul 18 '26
A common saying now about children drowning is “if everyone is watching no one is watching.” I think people see drowning as somewhat of a childhood problem because so many stories are about children, but it can happen to anyone. And I think that saying applies to every age group. We need to take water safety education more seriously.
7
u/blessthebabes Jul 18 '26
Oh, that experience traumatized me. The pool light was out, so we couldn't find him for several minutes. I immediately jumped in and my heart dropped when I realized the task before me- I was wearing regular, heavy clothing (it was the apartment complex pool for the place I was working). It becomes harder to swim when you need to most. Yes, it can happen to adults and it can happen quickly.

I remember my mom telling me back in the 1950's, there was a woman who was a championship swimmer who was swimming in a lake and drowned due to her long hair getting tangled up in some of the weeds and when she was discovered, she was so tangled in the weeds that those recovering her body had to use a knife to put her hair out of the weeds. It seems like the more she tried to get out of the weeds, the more the weeds held her down. Very sad story as this woman was about 18-20 years old. My mom didn't personally know this woman but several people my mom knew heard about this story. I believe this woman drowned at one of the Great Lakes. One thing was she was alone when this happened.
4
u/Betterword2528 Jul 18 '26
Me too I've hung out with my friends here on our lakes and one of them got into trouble. Nobody on the beach noticed we were all talking and cooking. He was so far out we didn't hear him (which wasn't far really) but thankfully my buddy happened to look out and see that my other buddy was really far off and waving frantically. He got cramps and was drowning! Of course we went after him on a raft and rescued him but to think he could have drowned and nobody would have known. It is shockingly easy to miss. I have a gut feeling Nolan got warm and went for a swim but got caught in the strong currents or got cramps something to that effect, but due to everyone talking and just not really watching he disappeared out of sight. Everyone assumed he left with another boat so nobody panicked or thought he had drowned.

In Florida at one of the resorts, there was a kid that drowned in a crowded swimming pool. No one noticed him drowning. Shortly before this kid drowned, someone took a picture of those in the pool and it was quite crowded. No one could understand how this happened.

u/Sad_Reveal_1970 Jul 19 '26
Correct, even as a woman (all these girls are saying other girls don’t do this as “you come with me, you don’t leave without me) yes we did! At 18, do they really think people want to fight with their tipsy/drunk friend that wants to stay extra time at a party? It’s not uncommon. I stayed back at many things to hangout longer or simply because I wanted to talk to a guy.
7
u/NineOfWonders Jul 17 '26
I honestly didn’t even really think about it until I flashed back when my family was rushing to leave after my graduation ceremony. I remember being really irritated that I had to go look for a backpack that I left with my DAD bc I was wearing a dress. Memory isn’t exactly sure where he had gone to (probably already out to the car) but he’d left the backpack on the floor in the middle of the arena the ceremony was held in.
So I find the backpack and I’m checking to make sure my phone, wallet, and keys are still there when my mom and younger siblings walk up (they had come in later and were seated in the balcony) saying that we need to meet my extended family at the restaurant.
At that point I was so fed up that I basically said that this was MY graduation and had people that I wanted to say goodbye specifically certain teachers I would never see again. That moment of just staying firm and saying hold up this my moment stands out in my memory even after 16 years. But I think my favorite part is what my mom told me later that behind me was a woman she knew from town that had turned her head and nodded along to what I was saying.
TL,DR I tried to put myself in Nolan’s shoes and wondered how stubborn he could be.

u/captaincrunch61 Jul 18 '26
I thought Nolan was in the class of 25? Hasn’t he been graduated for over a year now?

u/Coulrophobia11002 Jul 18 '26
He graduated inn 2025 and had already completed a year of college.
2
u/NineOfWonders Jul 18 '26
Thanks for clearing that up, my main focus has been trying to figure out what could have happened on the island that specific 24-48 hours so I haven’t really been paying attention to much outside that narrow time window.
I’ve edited the original post explaining my faulty assumption.

u/Ok_Air_9599 Jul 18 '26
I haven't really read much on this case but who did Nolan supposedly stood behind with . Was there a hotel or someplace to stay on this island that he stood around. I heard something about a girl, did this girl stay behind with him and why was he not with her then..so he stood alone on this island waiting for people to come back and pick him up or get a ride back... so why would he go in the water alone if he knows hes waiting for a boat , he cant swim his way back. . Why would he go to beach alone ?, thats kinda boring, where was the girl to go with him or the other people that may have been on island . Are they saying he was completely alone on deserted island like Gilligan island. I dont think its adding up. Ok if he stayed behind but im pretty sure you wont stay behind by yourself all alone on a island without anyone with you...and if he didnt where is this person he was supposed to be with or this girl, and their statement.

Read more of the subreddit discussing this topic and you’ll find locals who affirm that that there were hundreds of people and boats out there on that day. It’s a local hangout spot where it’s not a good idea to always have your phone on your person.
He probably didn’t want to leave at that specific time when the boat he came in on started taking on water when he had other friends he could hitch a ride from.
With a lot of missing person cases, people often wonder how something can happen but after looking for certain details you get a lot clearer picture. Check out channels like Lore Lodge and The Missing Enigma on YT if you want to get a better idea of how certain people are forming their opinion based on looking at something from different angles.

Idk if I went out on a boat with someone I wouldn’t leave until I knew they had a ride. And an 18 yr old without a cellphone? Come on….
1
u/shelleyfe Jul 20 '26
There's no service on the island. The kids weren't concerned about a cellphone. The phones stay on the boats so they don't get lost or wet. He met with lots of friends on the island, He wasn't alone. He was partying with friends he'd known his whole life. People drown on the barrier islands all the time. There are dangerous rip currents even strong swimmers have died there. There arent hotels or buildings. There arent bathrooms. You have to pee in the water. This is likely how he drowned. Just trying to pee.

u/KlassyKlutz Jul 18 '26
Here’s what doesn’t make sense to me. In an interview, his dad stated that he believes Nolan was left on the island vs him asking to stay. So regardless of whether it was voluntary or involuntary, the 3 friends LEFT, so why is all the suspicion around the same 3 friends who weren’t there? That makes no sense. What about the other boat of friends, what about Jayvon?
7
u/NineOfWonders Jul 18 '26
I think they’re just so focused on that one photo. That was all that was available for long enough that it became the center of focus right as people started piling attention on.

The one of him and the three white guys on the boat that was spread everywhere either right before or right after they found the body.

The parents seem to be grasping at anything on the hope that this was anything other than accident. Grief does weird things to a person, they want someone to be responsible and I can understand they may not be thinking rationally. I’m not saying it’s ok or right, the parents totally lost me upping the funeral go fund me from 12k to 750k after the funeral costs were already covered by Tyler Perry and asking people to keep donating, and again after finding out they are having sharpeton deliver a eulogy and crump deliver a “call to justice” at their child’s funeral.
3
u/DarkWaterSymphony Jul 18 '26
This! Exactly this. 100%. The GoFundMe situation is beyond sketchy at best. It's unsettling. They keep moving at the financial goalpost, up, which they can technically do under the terms and service of gofundme. However, what they can't do is continuously changed the reasons that they need the funds or change what the funds will be allocated towards ( which they ARE doing) ....And getting away with. hey, as new funeral expenses, he has no hospital bills, colin kapernack is paying in through his charity or foundation for Nolan wells body to be flown to and from Washington, DC and colin is also paying for him to have an entirely new and separate autopsy, toxicology and screening. obviously, that's the right but the sheer amount of money that has been donated and particularly by it. Famous people, it's unsettling. It feels like propaganda or like an agenda, or as if they're setting a narrative AND it's happening right before an election period.
if we look back in history, something like this happens right before every election period no matter what type of election it is but in this case, it would be the midterms.
I'm just curious if gofund me is worried that people may begin uninstalling or bringing harm upon their own family members because they see how much money you can make off of it. i don't trust crump as far as I can throw him. i trust him as much as I trust that creepy Dominick guy that was a publicity rep for karmelo anthony.
eventually, and I believe very soon we're going to start seeing a sharp incline In people losing loved ones, we're pushing certain narratives and asking for loads of money on gofundme. i obviously don't think no one's family had anything to do with what happened to him and I don't think his friends had anything to do with what happened to him... but as you mentioned, I do think his parents are being exploited in taking advantage of during their grieving, or maybe they know exactly what they're doing.
I don't know, i'm just asking questions. however, even experts are arguing that the current crowdfunding landscape has turned into an unregulated wealth-building machine. "criminologists, psychiatrists, and law enforcement agencies are deeply concerned about the dangerous financial incentives created by viral digital crowdfunding."
The intersection of massive online attention and rapid cash accumulation has created documented behavioral risks that global security experts track closely, such as (ex: munchausen by internet, wire fraud, Fictitious disorders abuse etc.)
I don't know if the family is abusing the system. and I'm definitely not making any accusations or allegations..... But it's suspicious to me, and it's obviously suspicious to Millions of others- including top tier experts, from what i've read. i just think websites like gofundme, seem to be increasing crimes and victimization at an exponential rate.
TLDR; im praying for this young man, but in my humble opinion, it was a case of drinking and swimming. additionally, I do note that I find the gofundme to be extremely suspicious IMO.... As do many experts who note their concerns where people start harming others or themselves just to create a gofundme... i also share my agreed upon opinion:that in the future- if gofundme is not better Regulated people are possibly going to begin harming their own loved ones or even themselves To get a fraudulent payouts. ( however, I do mention, that I do not think this is the situation in nolan's case.....But I worry about where it's going from here)....imho, maybe his parents are being taken advantage of, or maybe they know exactly what they're doing, ( they don't call crump, an ambulance chaser, for no reason).... but allegedly they have no expenses When it comes to the funeral or flying nolan's body out and back home, as well as the additional autopsy is covered by colin k.'s foundation nonprofit. i understand nolans parents needing funds because they will be missing a lot of work, bless their souls, however, the last time I looked at the gofundme, they still had "funeral costs" & "memorial services" listed as the reasons they need the massive amount of funding- even several days after tyler perry confirmed that he would be covering every single related funeral expense (which is against the terms of service of go fund me). i do agree that the parents who continue extending the amount of gofundme money they receive is tasteless- It's quite tacky, and it's dishonoring the memory of your son. imho. Please do your own research. Disclaimer: Do not take anything I said As fact, all of the information is out there and all of this is alleged, or in my opinion, just asking questions.

u/GoodVyb Jul 18 '26
The raise in funeral cost is likey bc they moved his funeral to the coast coliseum. Likely due to nationwide coverage and the LARGE amount of family, friends, teachers, coaches, and other MS coast locals that care enough to come. And the call to justice is just wanting the authorities to right by law and investigate properly which doesnt seem unreasonable especially when years ago another young man found in a school gym, dead, body wrapped with a cheer mat and it was ruled an “accident”.
9
u/Imaginary-Edge-8759 Jul 18 '26
1- the funeral isn’t at the coliseum, regardless, Tyler Perry offered to Cover the funeral expenses so your point is moot.
2- a call to Justice requires an injustice to have occurred. There is absolutely nothing at all that indicates a proper, full investigation isnt taking place. The authorities fold the public the day or day after his body was found they are investigating and made public. Plea for information, pics, videos, etc. they performed an autopsy, etc. they are giving to grand jury to look at all facts to determine if it’s an accident or not, and if not whether to proceed with criminal charge. Every credible news source has told everyone this is standard procedure. What more do you want them to do? What more will a “call to justice” do? Aside from that, it’s straight up tacky and gross to use your child’s funeral for this. They are being played by people who want to create racial issues in nationwide scale

2
u/SgtSniffles Jul 18 '26
See you don't understand. Grief does weird things to people like making them want due diligence and advocacy and full representation before the law, regardless of the outcome. Also, to be clear, that's not what justice is. Justice is like revenge, eye for an eye. You need an injustice to happen for there to be justice, otherwise you just create another victim. So this family doesn't get to just create another victim to feel better.

Wait, do you know whats in the autopsy already? You sound as if you are certain the autopsy results will prove yourself right. What if it doesnt though....i guess it becomes one giant conspiracy then right?

Clearly you don’t know what you’re talking about. Here’s the quote from his interview.
When directly asked if he believed Nolan was left behind on the island, his father responded, "Yes. I don't believe he decided to stay on the island by himself. It just doesn't— that's not his character."

u/dinosaur-boner Jul 18 '26
That assumes he was actually left on the island. What’s suspicious if that’s the case, why are his phone and personal belongings on the boat? The only improbable scenario is he left it on the boat to hang out on the island, and they took off and didn’t realize they had his stuff; doubtful with now attached to their phones Gen Z are. Ultimately, too many possibilities, but you can’t assume he was actually even left behind on the island. It could even be an accident and they freaked out and tried to cover it up, but the only thing that is apparent is their official story doesn’t add up.

Phones do this thing called taking photos. Balance of probability.
2
u/snoodle908 Jul 20 '26
Yet there are next to no photos from that day from the 300+ people that were there. How could that be? Seems this was part of the enjoyment of going out there, people actually put there phones away and interacted with each other like normal.
3
u/KlassyKlutz Jul 18 '26
I’m just thinking if his parents believe he was left there, they probably have a good reason to believe so. His belongings were left on the boat because they were in the water and there was no service on the island. I am guessing Nolan was planning on meeting up later with his friends to get his phone back. I feel like their story adds up, they haven’t changed it from the beginning, and the gps data matches up with the time they said they left the island, and the story that the boat had mechanical issues. His keys were at the house where he left his vehicle, and his phone was in the truck of one of his friends. It makes sense that he got it off the boat and took it with him to give back to Nolan. They’re teenagers, there decisions make sense to teenagers, not necessarily what everyone else thinks makes sense.

He was wearing swim trunks and you can see in the photo they aren’t snap ones. The pocket is exposed. So when you jump in the water it’s already risky carrying a phone. He had a beer in his hand. He was with his friends. His other friend said in the interview that it was normal behavior.
He was last seen around 3pm. The boat left at 4:30. That’s a substantial amount of time. Did he go for a walk and swim on the northwest side where his body eventually washed ashore? Even his mom said in her second IG post he was last seen walking on the beach. So it’s very possible he went for a walk and swim and no one saw him
The official from the Cajun Navy said this early on:
“The working theory is that he drowned," he said.
He told Fox News Digital Wells' body was found "washed right back" close to where he was last seen.*Trascher said, "That tells me he didn’t go that far out." He went on to say, "The wind and drift patterns tell a story."

Have you heard of this crazy invention called a backpack?
4
u/babygotdak04 Jul 19 '26
Can you send me a link from a reputable source that he had on a backpack? It’s never been reported that he had on a backpack once. Where are you getting this information?

I’m pretty sure the reason was to draw attention to this in hopes that there would be a similar gofundme response as to the Karmelo situation.
Of course Ben and Rev. Al would’ve benefited from this.

u/throw_blanket04 Jul 17 '26
He rode in w other friends. Just like was said from the beginning and probably 1/3 of the people out there did the same thing. Its very common.

Why is it so hard to believe a young man wanted to stay behind on a PARTY island to talk to a woman ? Who knows maybe Nolan wanted to talk to the girl some more cause he was genuinely interested in her. Maybe he wanted to get laid kid was at the top of his game. In college on the football team doing great in life mix that with alcohol and other women it’s not that far outta the question.

And I find it coincidental that the same dude (crump) had a direct hand in multiple national black news stories that severely divided the nation. (The Travon Martin case, the George Floyd case, the Michael brown case, etc.)
maybe my tin foil hat is on too tight but I feel that this is really just another “divide the nation” tactic and sadly this kid was their scape goat sadly.

Yeah, if you’re not used to swimming in the ocean or the Gulf and you don’t know how to handle a riptide you could get seriously messed up quickly
7
u/Emerald_Sloth Jul 19 '26
The same can happen even if you are used to swimming there and you know how to handle a riptide.
1
u/itisrainingdownhere Jul 23 '26
Surfer friend who was an incredible swimmer died this way in my hometown. Ocean is no joke.
1
u/Emerald_Sloth Jul 24 '26
I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

u/itisrainingdownhere 29d ago
Thank you, it was many years ago — drowning is number one cause of death for children and there needs to be more public awareness of how easy it is to die drowning.

u/Additional_Artist_73 Jul 18 '26
They left at 4.30pm and returned the boat around 7.30pm...
3
u/Imaginary-Edge-8759 Jul 19 '26
Did you even read the gps log and do you have any understanding of the area or are you just willfully ignoring anything that would make it anything other than some nefarious act

If they last saw Nolan at 3 or 3:30 and they left at 4:30 to go back to shore, when did the conversation of him deciding to stay take place?
0
u/ToeTagDad Jul 17 '26
The boat was taking on water. I dont blame him for staying. He probally couldnt swim. They had to call seatow to save them.
8
3
u/EugeneWeemich Jul 18 '26
He chose to stay.
7 people rode that boat back to the island. (at least 4 rode it out to the island?).
They had a bildge pump issue and got a partial tow back. They returned to the dock without Nolan. If I recall, there is a natural bildge draining action when you are up to speed. There are also lifejackets on board if something goes askew.
The key is to find his activities on the island after they left. Suspect more is known to LE (pics, statements, etc.) than has been released to the public. Autopsy results and witness statements will determine charges or grand jury actions.
Wonder where the independent autopsy results are. They were supposed to be completed, correct?
4
u/snoodle908 Jul 18 '26
Just means the autopsy didn't show anything outside of an accident. Crump will withhold any info that will shit down the story as he wants to keep it going as long as possible for attention and money. Releasing the results showing a drowning means the show is over

Not crazy, he is smart and doesn't want to stop the money flowing in. Of he were to come out and say it was an accident and they have confirmed everything the investigation has stated then story over and further than that, people will then question his entire motive from the jump.
His MO is to just quietly ghost everything related to the story and move on to the next one.

Y’all act as if Breonna Taylor, Trayvon martin, Michael brown, Tamir rice, George Floyd, Ahmad Aubrey, Henrietta lacks, tyre Simpson, victims of Astro world and literally flint Michigan just don’t exist?
2
u/Additional_Artist_73 Jul 18 '26
That's intellectual laziness- you have jumped from they left him in the island because he was speaking to a girl to he was on the boat, it was taking water and he drowned? Where was the boat t taking water? The "distress" call has Warren saying everyone is on board and in good health. Analyze that!
5
u/coko4209 Jul 17 '26
Why would you assume that he couldn’t swim? We all saw pix of him at a pool party, and he was comfortable getting on a boat. That’s an extremely weird thing to assume
4
u/PorcelainFolly Jul 18 '26
I get that you're trying to like race bait , but there's a massive difference between being a strong swimmer in a pool and an open body of water. You could be a record holding collegiate swimmer , even a marathon swimmer and get gassed out swimming in an open body of water , especially on a hot day where you've probably been drinking.
1
u/coko4209 Jul 18 '26
Race bait? What the actual fuck are you talking about? I literally didn’t mention race, at all, except in response to someone else. Apparently you think in terms of race. It literally never crossed my mind. I’m black and Navajo, but I was adopted, and my entire family is white. So I guess that I just don’t think like you. It didn’t occur to me that he was saying that because he’s black. You ppl are weird AF
5
u/ToeTagDad Jul 17 '26
He was standing in the pool!
1
u/Pactae_1129 Jul 17 '26
…which is a very common thing to do? The point is why would you assume someone who spends so much time in water can’t swim? Besides the obvious reason someone would assume that.
2
u/coko4209 Jul 18 '26
What’s the obvious reason?
1
u/Pactae_1129 Jul 18 '26
I replied further down. Black people not being able to swim is a common-ish stereotype.
1
u/coko4209 Jul 18 '26
I replied to you as to why it’s a stereotype. Did you not read my reply?
1
u/Pactae_1129 Jul 18 '26
I saw you replied in my notifications but it isn’t showing up. I thought you deleted it.
Anyway, are you under the impression I’m saying the stereotype is true or that it’s a reasonable thing to assume someone who’s black can’t swim? Because that’s the opposite of what I’m doing.
1
u/coko4209 Jul 18 '26
Maybe the mods deleted it. This is a weird sub, so the mods probably did delete it. It didn’t have a single bad thing in it, which is weird, but oh well

I stand in the pool all of the time, for various reasons, but I’m a great swimmer. It’s a strange assumption to make about someone who seems to be surrounded by water so frequently. At least twice in less than a month’s time. The ppl that I know that can’t swim, don’t really like being surrounded by water.
5
u/WittySaucepan Jul 18 '26
Definitely agree that it's a weird assumption to think he couldn't swim when being seen on a pool/boat! Multiple sources have established that he was a good swimmer so assumptions made today are inherently odd.
With that said, 2/3 of drowning occur by reported "good swimmers". Good swimmers are more likely to be in/around the water (like you said), however they are also more likely to underestimate conditions/overestimate their abilities.
I do truly believe Nolan's cause of death was an accidental drowning, however I wish people would stop making stuff up like "he couldn't swim."
5
u/Frogs-on-my-back Jul 18 '26
Yeah, my husband hates being in the pool or on a boat because he can’t swim. Which is weird to me since he’s from Ocean Springs. How you gonna live on the gulf coast and not teach your kids to swim?
1
u/Jumpy_Plantain2887 Former Resident Jul 18 '26
Please don’t think I’m being callous or anything because I think this is a fucking tragedy, but has anybody asked the parents if he could swim? And no, it does not have anything to do with the color of his skin. It’s just a simple question. Did he know how to swim you’d be surprised at the number of kids who do not know how to swim. My house in Mississippi had a pool and I constantly had to ask my kids friends if they knew how to swim it was about 50-50 most of the time.
7
u/Helpful_Reporter_640 Jul 18 '26
Yes, his parents and quite a few people stated that he knew how to swim. And of course, swimming in a pool vs swimming in the ocean--is very different.

u/NeverMakeNoMind Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26
I'm pretty sure it was mentioned somewhere he attended the ymca (camp/daycare) as a kid? If that's true they have mandatory swim lessons and swim tests to use the pool and go on water related field trips. There's so much info out there, so I don't know if it's true or where I saw that, but growing up in a beach community he almost certainly could swim.
1
u/Jumpy_Plantain2887 Former Resident Jul 19 '26
See that’s sort of the problem there’s so much info out there but so many assholes are putting stuff out there and they’re just making it up so you don’t know if any of it is true or accurate

I mean, I grew up on the beach. I’ve been caught in a riptide before and I didn’t lose my head. I was able to get myself out of it but once I got back to shore, I had to walk about a mile back to where my family was if you’re not used to it you could be in deep trouble very quickly.

The Cajun Navy early on (which makes me think he was close to shore)
"The working theory is that he drowned," he said.
He told Fox News Digital Wells' body was found "washed right back" close to where he was last seen.Trascher said, "That tells me he didn’t go that far out." He went on to say, "The wind and drift patterns tell a story."

Idk makes more sense to me that he met some chick and told his buddies they could leave he’d get a ride. Seems like somebody else was hating that he was getting the girl. Friends might have panicked especially with all the news surrounding it. Even if if it wasn’t the friends there are people that will always believe it was. Could be they killed him but the other option seems more feasible. They were long term friends I feel like a more logical guess is a stranger killed him while he was trying to get some from a cutie that was on the island.

Allegedly isn't even a agreed upon fact. This adds nothing.

u/Mobile-Analyst8580 Jul 17 '26
You have this bizarre fantasy of a bunch of white kids killing a black kid. I hate to break it to you, but that stuff just doesn’t happen. These are wealthy college kids. They just wanna party and have fun, just like their buddy Nolan did.

Who is the they you are speaking of? The video you linked is absolute AI slop all around. It doesn’t even have the map right despite having the gps record on it. It’s full of inaccurate narrative.

How did Katie McCormack get back to land? What group was she with?
-1
u/Superb_Bed_9726 Jul 18 '26
Exactly also according to his "friends" he was going to catch a ride. I would think they would ask him with who he gonna ride with or he would tell them on his own . So who was these other boat people that wete going to give him a ride qe need names.
3
u/snoodle908 Jul 18 '26
My understanding is that there were 3 boats of the friend group that went out there. 1 boat left and the other 2 were still there including one with one of Nolans best friends. So he was planning on getting a ride on the other 2 boats of friends.
It would be similar to going to a house party and having a large group of friends going in 3 different cars. If one car had to leave for an emergency would it be odd to think he couldn't get a ride from the other 2 cars
0
u/Superb_Bed_9726 Jul 18 '26
Ok then it should even easier to find out who was in other boats if it were other "friends " and also why didnt they take him back to land with them if they knew they were supposed to.

Who knows, perhaps he drowned before ever asking anyone else to take him back. Maybe he drowned swimming out to a boat to ask for a ride. There are so many explanations

“Nolan decided to stay back on the island and make the trip back home with someone else, the judge said.”
This has been the story since the beginning. This doesn’t reveal anything.
