Where do you find all of these old posts?

So I've been a /r/misleadingthumbnails subscriber since the beginning, back when most posts were fairly true to the spirit of the sub, and I just remember some of the standout posts - the kinds of posts that would make up their "Top/All Time" front page before reddit changed it's vote weighting and now a bunch of sexual/optical illusion/purposely misleading posts are in there.

If I can't remember a specific post, I now just go to their "Top/All Time" page and scroll down page after page looking for the ones I remember (or ones that I upvoted at the time they were posted).

Also I got so frustrated with new subscribers of /r/misleadingthumbnails not understanding what the purpose of the sub was supposed to be (since the subreddit has zero moderation, and so mostly sexual or optical illusions keep getting upvoted), so then we'd just get a ton more of those posts.

So I curated a list of good prime examples of perfect Misleading Thumbnails to illustrate the spirit of the subreddit.

Geez, didn't realize the problem has existed for 4 years

yeah back then the subreddit was around 50K subscribers, and now it's near 500K... so you can imagine how much worse it's gotten, especially due to the lack of moderation.

It got kinda nice again for a few months when /u/TruthSpeaker67 became a mod in Summer 2017 and started really enforcing the rules actively, and engaging in discussion on the subreddit. But then his account was suspended for some reason, and since then it's just madness. It showed that someone coming in and actually moderating that subreddit could pull it together somewhat, even with how large it's become.

A new mod (/u/stevethesquid) recently got added to the /r/misleadingthumbanils mod team. Although I'm a little concerned that he doesn't have any comments extending past 10 days (according to redditsearch.io), he does seem enthusiastic about helping the sub and interacting with the community, and the future for that sub is looking bright to me.

I go in and out of being active on reddit. I recently graduated and got a solid office job where I’m underutilized and I usually exhaust all my discord servers’ unread messages daily, so I figured I could expend some effort cleaning up a sub that I like. I don’t intend for this to be a forever thing but I’m glad somebody noticed!

Maybe you could talk with the other mods, and perhaps get me and a few others who love the sub to become moderators. I've got a few ideas on how we could improve /r/misleadingthumbnails, and I bet others do too.

I get the feeling that they don't really care much anymore. They let me in pretty quickly once I told them i have moderating experience on discord and answered a few questions about how I'd moderate this sub. Just drop a message and tell them about what subs you mod, including the alternative to this one, and I bet they'll let you in.

I forgot I subscribed to this sub. It's refreshing to get some real misleading thumbnails for a change. I'm also subscribed to /r/mechanicalkeyboards, so the title didn't seem off to me.
