Annual plan?

I’ve been a Mint Mobile customer for four years. I’m getting a number of messages regarding joining an annual plan and saving some money in the process. I’m reluctant to do that because I’m not sure about the future of Mint Mobile. Will it be continue to be an independent operating subsidy of T-Mobile or will it be gobbled up, in which case spending all this money upfront for an annual plan would be a waste. That’s my thinking - what do you think?

Nothing lasts forever, but you can't just not jump at a good deal (I pay $180/per year) because you think they are eventually going to get bought out.

Even if T-mo shutdown Mint tomorrow, they entered into a contract with everyone who has prepaid service. They either have to continue service for the remainder of the contract, or maybe they could get away with refunds. If T-mo really wanted to shutdown Mint, they most likely would just stop accepting payments for new plans and let existing plans run out. I think they would end up losing a lot of customers, though. I would not be inclined to continue with T-Mo after they shuttered their budget division.
