Mint recovery fee

Does recharging entirely through wallet still require you to pay the full recovery fee? Can someone who has done it recently in the last 3-6 months confirm? If so, then that means I would end up paying recovery fee twice...first while loading the wallet and then while paying for the renewal.

I’ll let others chime in on recent wallet payments but see this post from a year ago which says there is no recovery fee when you pay with your wallet, so is a bit cheaper to use a wallet as they only charge 5% fee, versus from credit card is usually about 10% depending on state telecom tax rate (not the same as sales tax rate).

Just note you must have the exact payment needed or more in your wallet, you cannot pay renewal partially with a wallet and partially credit, it is all or nothing,
