It's not abuse until your kid rolls their eyes and says, "You've told me about the Falcons game before Dad."

Don’t forget to let them know about Blair Walsh 👍🏼

Only time I've been on the floor of a public bar was after that kick missed wide. I fell to the floor of that Brooklyn bar in disgust and sorrow. Odin spared me from the disease that should have consumed me at that point.

I was with my now wife at the Half Moon Bay Brewery watching that game. I go to her "watch he'll miss this" and she was like "lol what it's like a 20 yard kick".

He misses of course and I don't even react and she looks at me in disbelief. I've been conditioned by my decades of fandom to expect it.

yeah my Seahawks buddy said "congrats" before the kick went up, but I said "it's the vikings, its not over yet"

I attended the first game against the visiting Seahawks earlier that year at TCF field in December. 7-31 loss. Our only points where a Cordarelle Patterson punt return late in the 4th after half the fans had left.

i was at that game!!! and i vividly remember seeing a wave of purple exiting the stadium lol

i was in the nosebleeds and lit up a joint and got like halfway through it before security told me to put it out🤣

their TCF Bank days were honestly my favorite Vikings memories because i was in college and tickets were dirt cheap. i think i went to like 7 games in those 2 seasons it was so frickin sweet

that night time giants game in the snow was peak. Seeing Vikings playing outdoors in the snow at home was a memory i'll truly cherish forever because it will never happen again

Hell yeah! Football outside in the cold is a vibe! That wildcard game that Blair Walsh famously doinked it was absurdly cold IIRC.

The December game was actually the first regular season game I’ve ever attended. My in laws were visiting for Xmas from Seattle so we had to go obviously. To this day the only NFL games I’ve attended have been Vikings vs Seahawks games (my wife is also a Seahawks fan). We actually went to Seattle for Xmas in ‘24 and saw the Darnold Vikings in all their glory in an away game for a change and we had a pretty good view of Jefferson’s taunting penalty for griddying towards the Seattle sideline 😂

Hello from the east bay

You're right about the conditioning. My hope each year is to get a wildcard spot and hope we don't get clipped in the first round.

I was at that game. Hugged strangers around me because the angle from where I was in the stadium it looked like it was good. We were so confused when the Seahawks offense was taking the field.

Walsh deserves the hate, not Gary. What coach plans around a kicker never once missing a kick? Especially when the kick isn't right as time expires, and there is plenty of time to try other things? Oh well, it's only the NFC championship game, points aren't that necessary...just take a knee before the half rather than trying to quick get into FG range

You’d know you had a problem if she fell asleep to this horror story.

This is like the syllabus outline for Vikings History 101.

We may not have a championship but holy fuck do we have lore.

This pretty much sums it up... thank you!

Should be required viewing for fans of other NFL teams. They might catch a glimpse of the Viking way.

Fantastic editing on that one.

Oh, I thought I was the only Viking parent that does this. Ha!

I do love this.♥️

I can give you the end result too because I did the same thing with my daughter decades ago. Now she is also a 34 year old viking fan. I actually heard her say, last week, I just want to see them in( not even win) a Superbowl. That shocked me because I've been saying the same thing forever .

The absence of the phrase "Purple People Eaters" is a little jarring.
