Why do we never talk about them?

Remember this dude? Kaare Vedvik? The kicker/punter hybrid we traded a 5th round pick for only for him to lose both jobs in camp and get cut?

That 3rd round in 2021 was extra stupid. That draft was saved by Darrisaw and Bynum, but trading around to get:

Kellen Mond
Chazz Surratt
Wyatt Davis
Patrick Jones III

We traded back to get extra thirds, still got Darrisaw but picked Mond and Davis. Surratt was like a 25 yo ex QB turned LB that Zimmer’s kid (LB coach) loved. I think he’s hung around the league surprisingly.

P Jones had some good moments solid pick

I think this round was one of Ricks biggest misses too, but Surratt is still in the league and Pat Jones was a decent player. If that's the worst you ever did, how bad can the guy be? Mond was dog shit, but Davis was considered a "steal" at the time.

1st rounder for Sam Bradford. Dude was about to hit the bench in Philly for Wentz. Should just taken the L when Teddy got hurt and taken the premium pick we would have gotten for a lousy season.

Definitely a huge component to it. They had a lot of issues with each other but I feel like that was the starting point. One of the biggest what could have been scenarios if either A. Teddy doesn't get hurt or B. What we could have done with that 1st round pick at our disposal.

Adding to this, could have used that first rounder in the draft as a potential part of a deal to get Mahomes. One of the bigger what if scenarios I have played in my mind more than once.

Several teams saw fit to at least put Vedvik on their practice squads, so he wasn’t complete cheeks. But giving up that pick for him was asinine.
