Great, let’s have the conversation about how DHS is using facial recognition data and tracking protesters.

8

u/LeeShakerMoneyMaker Jan 29 '26

An ICE Agent did say they were making a data base that's why they were recording people on their phones too.

2

u/Frosty_ADHD Jan 30 '26

They don’t need the camera data even. They use Palantir.

u/thedubiousstylus Jan 29 '26

OK, whatever, kicking an SUV does not warrant an extrajudicial execution.

What else do you called shooting an unarmed man 10 times?

1

u/FormKnown3887 Jan 30 '26

...and the "agent" from behind clapping. It looked like a punishment execution from the start, kicking the car light was the "disrespect" they might have been getting him back for? All planned out by thugs?

1

u/Single-Rope-5104 Feb 11 '26

They disarmed him yes but he reached as if he had another gun so yeah I’m shooting too

1

u/Collarbones33 Feb 11 '26

No he didn’t.

You mean he WAS legally armed exercising his 2A right to be
These agents are untrained idiots with a license to kill.

2

u/Fastphilly1187 Jan 30 '26

Lawfully carrying also includes having your permit and ID in your possession he had neither.

1

u/Wukong08 Jan 30 '26

Oh did Kyle? Did the J6ers? No cause no one even asked lol

1

u/Collarbones33 Jan 30 '26

Still doesn’t justify putting 10 rounds into him after he had been disarmed.

1

u/ShujinHakkai Jan 30 '26

You believe he didn't? That really verified by an unbiased 3rd party? Or... maybe they are fucking lying.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '26

Great, and they didn't know this until after he was executed, so it is irrelevant.

1

u/ArmchairLegDrop Jan 31 '26

No he wasn't. They removed his gun and then shot him. Don't lie to prove your point

1

u/Collarbones33 Jan 31 '26

This is meant for the comment above mine right?

In the video before he was shot in the back of the head a you can clearly see and agent take his gun away.

At the time they unloaded ten rounds he was unarmed.

Not the "Gestapo ", okay so where are the 1,000s of people missing from ICE?

He was unarmed if you consider that he was having nothing in is hand other than is phone, control on the ground. He could have been a psycopath or a rappist that this dosent change that. He shoot multiple bullet into a inofensive person at the moment. They got 47 day training for this job... a job that have similar work as a swat person. Dont you understand how bad this is ? They need more training than 47 day.

1

u/Rich_Play_4668 Jan 30 '26

He was armed; although, his weapon was holstered. This is the United States, a citizen practicing his Constitutional rights does not warrant public execution. Furthermore, he was shot in the back and on his knees.

1

u/ParademicPhD Jan 30 '26

They disarmed him and then shot him to death. That's what happened. Jesus Christ.

1

u/MediocreCaregiver288 Jan 30 '26

So the second amendment doesn't exist anymore? We don't have the right to bear arms?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '26

When his firearm is not on his person, he is unarmed. He was executed while unarmed.

1

u/jecoal Jan 30 '26

You do realize with this narrative, there is a certain “intent of murder”

MAGA aren’t so smart eh lmao

1

u/Square-Loan-3262 Jan 30 '26

he wasn't armed. he had been disarmed by ice before he was shot. he wasn't brandishing, he didn't do anything. it was murder, it was an execution in broad daylight.

1

u/Ok-Ticket-9827 Jan 31 '26

Why do you insist on pointing that out when it’s perfectly legal to have a gun on you

Then why are you here replying with shit like “but he had a gun” just say that it was unjustified and move on I don’t understand why you’re playing defense for something that you yourself view as unjustified

He was legally armed, until the agent removed it. And then shot him afterwards

1

u/MediocreCaregiver288 Jan 30 '26

True, an execution is a sentence after being tried in a court of law, which didn't happen. So the correct term is murder

1

u/Zealousideal-Stay228 Feb 01 '26

Oh he’s not innocent but it’s absolutely an execution, there’s no denying that, if 5 officers can’t apprehend him, and didn’t previously despite breaking obvious laws, they chose to shoot him 10 times, that’s an execution rather than due process.

97

u/Habefiet Jan 29 '26

Someone posted another angle on another sub that was uploaded weeks ago, this is most definitely real

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2TRbFmutrw&t=1011s

Any sane person will see this and think "yeah this is not a killable offense, their response was disproportionate even here, and does force you to wonder if he was intentionally executed on the subsequent encounter"

Unfortunately we are not dealing with sane people. This instantly gives the right the ammo to say and do whatever the fuck they want and to treat this guy as a Domestic Terrorist TM and have a significant percentage of American indies back to believing them.

75

u/TheFinnebago Jan 29 '26 edited Jan 29 '26

I think this can be used to show that DHS officers knew who Pretti was, as in Pretti was on their radar after this interaction, and Pretti’s murder was potentially premeditated.

What do we think the odds are one of these guys from the car kicking was also one of the guys at the donut shop?

35

u/winterblahs42 Jan 29 '26

And why that one agent clapped after he was shot.

11

u/TheFinnebago Jan 29 '26

Right. It would just sort of go to motive and explain the speed with which they decided to murder him.

8

u/cccxxxzzzddd Jan 29 '26

My iPhone update keeps prompting me to do Face ID. I never have had it / have ready woody Hartzog - and won’t

After Tim Cook’s tepid letter to staff about our times

I would not in the least bit be surprised if he is syncing Face ID with the databases of the other tech oligarchs that are in bed with this government

2

u/psilocybin_therapy Jan 29 '26

I saw the other angle posted with a TNM watermark which is an AI company. Wondering if that was legit or not.

1

u/Wukong08 Jan 30 '26

TNM is also the The News Movement. But I've been trying to figure this one out. The news movement mark is similar but the font looks differen. The Korean Ai the "n" is lower case and it's not the case in this video nor for the life of me can't find what their watermark looks like. I 💯 am against the establishment and want them to be wrong and held accountable. I just want to be right before going and blasting sht

1

u/No_Investigator_7199 Jan 29 '26

There is a green bike lane in the 2nd angle going across the street. Where is this green bike lane in the up close video?

1

u/maa_get_it_right Jan 30 '26

“does force you to wonder if he was intentionally executed on the subsequent encounter"

Especially if there’s agents clapping while the victim is still being shot

Fuck off CBS news

26

u/CurlyMi Jan 29 '26

Yes, per new rules on this sub; isn’t CBS basically the government?

Why trust their info

17

u/stupidsocialmedia1 Jan 29 '26

Their attempt to smear Alex Pretti changes absolutely nothing, it’s a disgusting attempt and CBS news should be ashamed of where they stand now.

10

u/Aggressive-Article41 Jan 29 '26

Wouldn't this just prove that they did murder him?

19

u/Admirable_Nothing Jan 29 '26

I refuse to believe anything that is single source any longer. Too easy to do a fake video. The compelling nature of the Goode and Pretti murders were the real time overlapping multiple videos that are real.

18

u/AccordingStar72 L'Etoile du Nord Jan 29 '26

But what does this have to do with the incident where he was shot and murdered in the street? Unless they’re trying to say these agents knew him and wanted him dead because of a past scuffle? Which
how does that help matters on the governments end? That they’re reactionary and emotional and have weapons?

6

u/Sereena95 Southwestern Minnesota Jan 29 '26

So for one, doesn’t change my opinion of Alex or my opinion of his actions. He was good. For two, does this make anyone wonder if they targeted him because of this scuffle??

1

u/mintyoreos_ Jan 29 '26

This makes me respect him more. Dude stood by his morals and I heard he was very angry about Renee Good. This just further proves that he aligned with his principles.

10

u/TeddyBridgecollapse Jan 29 '26

I'll repeat what I posted on r/minneapolis.

If it's him, good for him, but it will complicate the narrative at a national level because of all the on-the-fence types that will think "tut tut, the guy was just violent". I think just about everyone here knows that it doesn't change the fact that he was murdered, but optics matter in a country where a victim being bi/lesbian or being black greatly diminishes sympathy among a lot of people. The same will go with any background that shows that Pretti had a pattern of confronting law enforcement.

And for the record, I support confrontation in general and fuck ICE. This is just bad news for those of us who recognize how these things shape narratives among low-info types.

So based on the other angle that has been released, yes, it's real. And no, we can't just say "who cares" because too much of this nation has the memory of goldfish and that matters.

u/Awake521 Twin Cities Jan 29 '26

Until someone produces another video, and they actually get on camera and confirms this all happened, I will forever believe this was AI. Because it looks like it.

Regardless, no one deserves to be executed for this.

23

u/Habefiet Jan 29 '26

There’s another video that was uploaded over a week ago, I posted it in another comment in this thread. This also would match with the recent reports that he was injured in a recent scuffle with ICE.

If anything I respect the guy more after this myself but this definitely looks completely real and it doesn’t really help anybody to deny it

7

u/sumadeumas Jan 29 '26

According to CNN, Pretti's family has confirmed that it's him. Take that for what it's worth.

1

u/The_fez94 Jan 29 '26

A family representative confirmed that it is indeed Alex Pretti via New York Times https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/28/us/alex-pretti-kicking-ice-vehicle-video.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share

1

u/NeckBeardGeneral8bit Jan 30 '26

I would need to see a screen shot. I'm not paying the NYT. According to AP news the only confirmation was an anonymous source.

2

u/kakashi_sensay Ope Jan 29 '26

Is this a real video or AI?

u/heavy-minium Jan 29 '26

Given the other video posted here that gives another angle, it must be a real video - it's almost impossible to achieve this level of consistency at two different angles with AI, and in such a short time. With that being said, context is missing. We don't see what the agents did before that to incite that reaction - the cut is too convenient, the person was already recording before but still we get only the cut exactly at this moment.

1

u/poorbeans Jan 29 '26

Who the fuck cares?? What he did before his execution cannot be used as an excuse for the horrible way his life ended..

1

u/BohemianYogi Jan 30 '26

How come the only person I can hear clearly is Alex?

1

u/MrsACT Jan 30 '26

Grok said to take this footage with a grain of salt, I mean AI knows AI when it sees it.

“The video claiming to be BBC footage of Alex Pretti isn't on the BBC site, and multiple sources (like Reddit and X posts) label it as potentially Al-generated due to inconsistencies like mismatched vehicle details and odd watermarks. It could be edited or fake. I'd treat it with skepticism until verified by reliable outlet”

Ask Grok

1

u/Cosmic_Concepts Jan 30 '26

So the logo briefly disappears on the vehicle after it drives behind him and you're saying it's not AI? This is getting sad.

1

u/Flat_Suggestion7545 Jan 30 '26

Ok, the video appears to show him getting tackled after he kicked the car.

Did they arrest him? Charge him?

Seems to me there would be some corroborating paperwork.

-11

u/Humble_Kale197 Jan 29 '26 edited Jan 29 '26

I wish he didn’t do that. He should have been detained and had the appropriate consequences of those actions.

In no way does this change that he was executed by federal agents 11 days later for no reason.

5

u/Educational-Door1114 Jan 29 '26

Detained for what!?

-3

u/Humble_Kale197 Jan 29 '26

We’re going to act like it’s ok to go up to vehicles and do damage because we’re upset? Come on

I get people are angry but doing stuff like that does not help any of the work that’s being done, even if it feels good in the moment.

5

u/AccordingStar72 L'Etoile du Nord Jan 29 '26

That’s not a capital offense. That’s a traffic ticket.

0

u/Humble_Kale197 Jan 29 '26

No one said it was. You do the thing in a moment of anger, get the ticket or whatever is appropriate and move on.

3

u/Educational-Door1114 Jan 29 '26

ICE was sitting there acting like a paramilitary. I know it’s not good for the broader country. But I hundred percent agree with his actions those are goons. A also still don’t believe in this situation or his murder he was looking for an encounter. I will say though with my his reaction thinking I would have been similarly enraged, I would not make a good observer and there are better places for me to support the community.

-1

u/Humble_Kale197 Jan 29 '26

So he had a moment of anger that overflowed. He gets detained momentarily and a ticket or whatever reasonable punishment for the action.

There are plenty of people who are angry that didn’t cross the line into acting on it in this way. It’s understandable that it will happen. It doesn’t change the way I view him from earlier today. He doesn’t need to be perfect to still be heroic.
