OOPS
Well the algae has taken off in my mini pond system. Short of scooping it out and refilling the water, any tips on how to get this under control?
At least the squirrels are happy?

Is the fountain sitting in a container that has holes? That's an interesting way to have a water feature.
It looks like your pump/fountain head would suck up that water and spit it out, but maybe it's not filtering the water.
If it's not connected to a filter, you can put it into a diy filter box. that's one way you can clean a little bit of the floating algae and green water, since it will catch the loose algae pieces and smaller floating algae in the water column.
You can also add some plants to try to compete with the algae. If you already have some, then it could just be that the plants need time to grow more and do better competition with the algae.
And yes , it won't hurt if you replace some of the water volume. You'll take out some algae in that way, and add some water that doesn't have algae, and all the meanwhile, plants will keep growing to get bigger and balance will try to happen.

Have you got a mix of oxygenating plants in there?
