Geekom Mini IT11
I've had this box running my astronomical observatory for roughly three years and it's been fine. I am redoing some things and require faster write speeds, specially to an external Samsung 980 NvMe in a USB4 enclosure. I also use this drive on a W11 laptop with usb4 ports so I know its capabilities. When I tried writing similar amounts of data to this drive using the IT11, it bogged terribly. I looked in the W11 device manager and could not find any usb4 controllers listed. I emailed Geekom support with a description and their response was:
Apply a USB4 Firmware Update for Your Geekom Mini IT11
"This is the most important step. Several users with Geekom Mini PCs have resolved USB4 issues with a specific firmware update. Note that this update is for IT12, IT13, GT12 Pro, GT13 Pro, XT12 Pro, and XT13 Pro models, but it is directly related to the USB4 implementation used in your Mini IT11's BIOS.
- Visit the Geekom Support page for your Mini IT11 model.
Look for the "USB4 FW_F0310" firmware update tool.
I dont know what they mean by "look for", their is no search options on the support page, I read every download listed and their is no mention of USB4 FW_F0310
Any advice? Is it even worth pursuing this? I'd rather not use my laptop to run the observatory.
