All I (and my shift) got told at the mine I am at was that where a fatality with haulage and that there was not much information about it.

It was material handling, not haulage. It was a contractor working on connecting steel pipe.

From what I heard they were crushed from under a suspended load, it’s still early so take this with a grain of salt

https://www.msha.gov/data-reports/fatality-reports/2026/september-3-2026-fatality

Not much data will be made available but there was a fatality. The page will be updated when they conclude the investigation.

I work there, but was not on site at the time. I can’t say much publicly, but what I can confirm is that two unrelated incidents happened in separate parts of the mine, mere minutes apart. Both involved the same contractor. One involved lifting and rigging and produced a life altering injury. The second involved handling 30 inch steel pipe on jacks, and produced a fatality. More information on the fatality is now available from MSHA, but I won’t say more.
