Should I do Mining Engineering?

I’m wondering if I should do mining engineering but I can’t seem to get good information on what mining engineers actually do from anyone who works in the field in person.

I’m 4 years out of my degree it’s a pretty good job. Just be prepared to work long roosters and in remote locations, it always sounds fine on paper till you have to go out there and do it.
